Hi,

Parking is getting more and more difficult at GP on match day.

Has anyone got a list of the roads which can be parked on and are not in the now extended controlled zone.

Or any good car parks nearby.

Boring thread I know!

Thanks.

I always park on Ealing Road halfway between GP and South Ealing Station. There is an area along there which is not restricted parking on a Saturday. It is about a ten minute walk from the ground.

Not a lot of space you can always park in the office block car park on the corner of A4 Boston Manor Rd
And get your car window smashed in? Good luck parking there nowadays.

CPZ's all around Brentford now. Park away and get the train in.

Thought about that, but I think some cars parked there have had windows smashed in the past.

You need to be early like an hour before ko but there are places within 15 minutes brisk walk. Meant to be good for you!
You just have to look for them
Roads opposite the lion gate of Syon park. Up Boston Manor road and off to the right.

These places are already getting congested. Plus, residents have started putting no parking cones outside their houses.

If you are a National Trust member park in Osterley Park for free, or at the London Underground for £2.20 then get tube 3 stops to South Ealing.

Lionel Road will be even worse as their are CPZ all round there. Time to ditch the motors and let the train take the strain.

How quick does the travelodge car park get full up?

Yeah thinking about the train nowadays, it's not that easy a journey on the train from Iver though.

On SW trains? Be prepared to set off Friday nights then!

Punctuality on SW trains means arriving at your destination within 24 hours of departure.

Let's hope the new franchise improvements lets you set off first thing in the morning. :D

Gunnersbury and Kew Gardens Tube will be a big help, hopefully.

We travel on SW Trains for every Saturday home game and in fairness, 75% of the time the service works well. But it does cost me a fortune.
Tuesdays are different, though - especially with one of my kids due at school the following day. The train rarely gets in to Southampton before midnight, so it's quicker and cheaper to drive. If parking around Lionel Road becomes an issue, I'll be picking and choosing my Tuesday home games from then on.

Always take the train now especially as I've got the Freedom Pass. However on the odd occasion (usually evening games ) I take the car and park in Syon Park for free and a fifteen to twenty minutes walk to the ground. Depends of course which direction you're coming from Twickenham for me makes it easy.

Its only free to National Trust members otherwise its £3 its quite a walk from this car park back to the station. Why not park at Osterley and get 91 down to Ealing Rd

They sound a bit like Viz top tips to me, along the lines take courtesy coach from Heathrow to Travelodge in Cranford then continue to Griffin Park via space hopper which can be handily deflated and stored during the match. ;)

One of the many advantages of being a senior member of society is that it comes with a freedom pass, I just jump on the train at Twickenham, it takes the hassle of trying to park, especially as CPZ's are now far reaching and growing, plus I can have a drink without the worry!!! Lionel Rd is going to be a nightmare unless you don't mind a 30 min walk, even then it's going to be difficult.

Even worse when you have to combine it with a journey on Southern. :banghead: #bringbackconnex

Why dont you people just buy local and walk to the ground.... More to life than a 4 bedroom detached house in a big field

Park 1 mile north up Boston Manor Rd then bus it back down to Brentford.
Bus runs every 5 minutes and stops 2 minutes from the ground.
Pay with your bank card.
Easy!!

Carville Crescent works well for me coming in from the Motorway 4. Better now it's finally been resurfaced.

Only applies if you live in London area.
The 60+ Oyster card is only available in Greater London councils and is upgraded to a Freedom Pass at state pension age currently 66. I'm pretty sure that there is a national Freedom Pass available at 66+ as my brother and sister in law have one and they live in the Midlands and use it when they come to London just as I do on local services in other parts of the country.

Interesting. I'll have to look into it.

Edit I think your family must just have a bus pass, as the Freedom Pass applies only to London. There is no regional equivalent.

Osterley parking is seven pounds not three! I am a member #middleclass but some of my friends I recently met there had to pay 💰

York Road and you may even see a Bees legend if you park there. If I can't park there I tend to do Darwin Road or Whitestile Road.
