Thanks for that. I rarely use it to come up from Sussex anyway but I'll leave earlier to preempt any extra traffic on my usual cut-throughs in Surrey.

FFS, that's practically passing the top of our road!

:banghead:

I noticed that.

I guess its out past Bourne Valley and Addlestone rather than Ottershaw, although the road will be closed by the council offices as they have a crane in on the same day to lift air con units!

The Cat could be trapped.:D

Could be a bigger inconvenience to rubber necking Man U fans in Surrey heading to Brighton.;)

I come up the M3 and turn left so will probably help me if anything.

Normally train it nowadays but trains not so frequent on Sindays.

This monster truck is supposed to be leaving CLACKET LANE Services at 6.00am, and then will be on the M25 westbound for about 30 miles.
It says it can go up to 12 mph on the motorway.

So if you assume it does half of that speed, say 6mph, then it should be off the motorway by midday, well ahead of kick-off time and enough time for those of us who come that way, not to be too held up by it.

Needless to say, it probably won’t run to schedule, so we’ll just have to keep an eye on the traffic reports.

I find that a lot of the time, I’m only able to drive at 12 mph on the M25, so Sunday won’t be much different!!!

This is what is coming through. Looks like something out of Thunderbirds.

Its going to be more of a problem once it hits local roads, but that should only be for an hour or so.

How on Earth is that going to fit down Woodham Lane with those speed bumps? Apparently once it leaves the M25, it's going to drop its speed to 3mph!

How is it going to make what is basically a U-turn on that roundabout just before it gets to its destination!

Knowing the area like the back my hand, it really has got a couple of tricky pinch points to negotiate! If I wasn't at GP on Sunday afternoon (which I might not be if I can't get out of our road), I'd be fascinated to see how the hell this is going to work.

A team ahead of it will be removing street furniture as they drive along

Why is it stopping for seven hours overnight? ie.. the times when it would cause least disruption... if anything it should stop in the day!

Because there are laws on giving drivers sufficient rest

And I would imagine the Chertsey bit needs to be done in daylight !!!

Will stay clear of the A320 for a few days after. 150 tonnes heading down it will not be good for the water main underneath that bursts with daft regularity. lol

That's on a wide London Road (it looked like the Holloway Road), this thing has got to come down Woodham lane which is a B road, negotiate two roundabouts and speed humps! Logistics and planning at their best.
Just been looking at the final approach to the substation on google. Think some people are going to lose their front gardens. Its wider than the road.

I know, this is a bit to close to home to be honest, I'm hoping this thing doesn't pack up on Woodham Lane!

Not a lot happens over here, which explains why there were hundreds out watching it! That really was some impressive driving. Roads all clear now.

That's almost top speed on the M25.

Wasn't exactly chaos!

There was some fantastic planning and maneuvering by the haulage team. The only bit of bad planning was Get Surreys on the spot reporter running out of battery on his phone camera and losing the live feed. lol

Unbelievable driving and planning from the haulage company. Have to say I wasn't expecting it to go so smoothly.

Not sure where they got their timelines for the day though..
