Apologies if this has been covered or there is already a thread. Also, I hate to bring it up as penalties are a bit of a sore subject

Anyway, who will be our main penalty taker?
Kev (if he plays I imagine he will be one of the first in line)
Grigg(took them for Walsall last season)
McCormack (no nonsense wallop taking the keepers head off)
Saunders (takes a decent penalty despite missing the fair few)
and there must be a few others I've omitted

And before anyone says it, please not Clayton. Love him to bits but he cannot be given penalty duties

Oh and just for the record- I reckon Grigg though the responsibilty will likely fall to KOC if and when he plays

I reckon it would be Kev when on, Grigg when Kev not on...I don't know enough about the other new boys, maybe Mcaleny but if he's not a taker then Saunders after that.

Not McCormack. He was captain in the PO semi's and didn't step up then. Like our own Donaldson, obviously doesn't fancy it from the spot.

Has to be Kev or Grigg based on previous records. Or if they aren't on the pitch, Forshaw or Dean will do after good penalties under pressure in the semi. Saunders has missed one too many for me.

Dean came out after the play off semi and said he has a bad record with penalties in training, so he just decided to treat the spot kick like a golf swing.

Not Dean ;) Saunders has had a couple of penalties where he's tried to be too accurate from them, and that's why he's hit the inside of the post a couple of times. I always feel confident of he steps up though.

One of the best for the Bees last season was Tony Craig's against Swindon. Don't know if that was a fluke or not.

Will Grigg scored 8 penalties last season I think. So probably him.

Wasn't Donaldson the penalty taker at Crewe?

Between :king Kev: and Grigg, depending who is on the pitch at the time.

Saunders will be the next in line.

Grigg for me. As previously mentioned, scoring from the spot will help his confidence and may put him on a run. Plus 8 penalty goals last year is a brilliant record.

McCormack (no nonsense wallop taking the keepers head off)
I have images of McCormack wearing a leather studded dog collar, and allowed off the leash to take off the keepers head via the penalty spot.

Then retrieving the said head from the goal and dropping it the managers feet

................thought he scuffed that one...............
Appearing to scuff a penalty is just a trick to fool the goalkeeper... anyway, I'll give you good odds that Trotta will not score a penalty for Brentford this season. I expect Grigg will.

Nothing wrong with that penalty, take nothing away from the goalkeeper, it was a very good save. Happy if Grigg steps up for the next one.

Better to miss them when nothing rides on it

I told everyone around me that Grigg was going to get score at hat-trick by scoring a penalty, then 2 minutes later we got one.. it's all my fault so sorry..

Grigg scored plenty of pens last year so I'd stick with him but Fillo is an option if he is on the pitch .

Uwe has confirmed Grigg is our No 1 taker and will take the next one.

Still Grigg for me, that was a well struck/placed penalty today and the keeper pulled off a fine save (reminded me of Paul Smith's last season).

All our penalty takers last season missed one.
That's Grigg's miss out of the way. He's clear for the season now.

He looked very casual in his approach today but it was a decent enough save.

At the time, I thought he could have taken a better run up but now I've watched it back it was more a good save than a bad penalty IMO. Grigg to take the penalties for me, maybe Kev if he is on the pitch

Grigg 's style is to take a short run up and place it into the corner, generally to the keeper's right. Shame nobody told him that Long dived left for both pens at Bramall Lane last season too

The year Brighton steam rolled this league they missed the majority of their penalties and it became a real joke amongst their fans because they would still beat teams by two or three clear goals...

Also with our pace we will have plenty of penalties and practice taking them

No reason why Grigg should not continue taking them.
