A very, very sad day for me and I imagine a huge number of fellow bees who know and love Pete Hayward (West Wilts Bee) who sadly died today following a major heart attack earlier in the week.
Pete was from a family of Bees and one of 8 siblings with 4 brothers who all got taken to GP while nippers by their dad Syd who was also a lifelong Bee.
Pete was 67 and a familiar, smiling, charismatic die hard fan who was always great company on away trips over the years and just one of the nicest blokes you could ever wish to meet.
He was a very well known face, one of the one Hartlepool walkers and also shook buckets outside when the club was in a far worse situation.
I know how happy he’s been in recent times as our crowd always enjoy a catch up in the Dug out with Pete and brothers Phil and Vin (sadly brother Chris, Isle of Wight Bee on GPG left us 14 years ago as did dad)

Thoughts are with his wife Lin and family as well as brothers Phil and Vin and sisters Marg and Theresa, they are a very close, lovely family of Bees.

God bless and RIP Pete, you’ll be sorely missed by so many of us but you’re joining a great team up there.

Here, there and everywhere......
Sad times. Was only speaking with Phil and Pete last Sunday. Was hoping and praying he would pull through, so such a huge shock. The Dug Out won't be the same...

RIP Pete......

Jesus terrible terrible news. RIP Pete. I know we only used to bump into each other pre match down the Globe or at away grounds before the game but always enjoyed seeing you. Dave will be distraught.

Incredibly sad news and the GPG will be a poorer place without one of its long term contributors. A proper dyed in the wool Brentford fan, rest in peace Pete. Thoughts with his brother Phil and everyone who knew Pete at this dreadfully sad time.

Very, very sad news. Known Pete since I was about 12/13. We both delivered newspapers for the Cabin newsagents in Northolt then played football with Pete in the local parks. He was Brentford through and through. RIP Pete you will be missed

RIP Pete.

Having seen us through some of the darkest days, I’m glad that you got to see us enjoying our time back in the big league.

Condolences to his family and friends.

Should be obvious
Oh gosh. Pete was always great to have a chat with, home or away. He loved the Bees with a passion. A giant amongst us. My thoughts are with his family, especially Phil who I know well. Rest in Peace, Pete.

Very sad news. I only knew Pete through his contributions here on the GPG but his passion for Brentford shone through - its only through people like him that we still have a club to support today. My thoughts are with him and his family and friends.

Very sad news, I only knew Pete from the GPG but him and his posts have been an ever present part of the furniture in those years. RIP West Wilts Bee and condolences to the family

Didnt know Pete 'in real life' but he made some great posts on here and was clearly Brentford through and through. Very sad news to wake up to this morning. I hope he'd made his peace with the club following the disgraceful treatment of his brothers recently.

RIP, another huge loss to the BFC and GPG communities.
