Brentford allow a minority sport to use our ground and facilities because London Irish, as a business, in no way could ever fund their own stadium given how pitifully unsupported they are. Putting some ropes around a pitch at Gunnersbury Park and having a single hot dog van is more appropriate for them, rather than allowing use of our stadium. That’s been compounded by them chatting sh*t about our home being their ‘new home’ too

Not sure fining is the way. Good systems of accountability would lead to players having to repair the pitch they have damaged ! And doing some hours with the physio department repairing players who have injured themselves (whether from knee sliding or otherwise !). Was gobsmacked how much it gouges out of the turf ….

I'd be more worried about the players knees quite frankly. Try that in Gunnersbury Park and they'd be ripped to threads.

Wow! Never even noticed. My thoughts:

1. Must have been minimal if I didn't even notice, therefore is this significant enough to be hindering us?
2. Same for both sides
3. How spoiled have we become to be expecting a bowling green every game? Most of us are old enough to remember pitches not quite of the modern day standard. Think Baseball Ground mid-January. In fact think of the famous Maradona goal against England. Not only did he dribble through the entire team with the ball glued to his feet... he managed to negotiate this feat on a surface which today might only be deemed fit for grazing animals.
4. I think I need to drink less pre-match. Or finally admit I might need glasses. I normally notice these things. Actually feel a bit annoyed with myself!

I don't believe the club's energy provider is 100% renewable is it? If not, would like to see us switch to purely renewable at earliest contractual opportunity as we are certainly going to be getting through our fair share of electricity usage!

I couldn’t believe how badly it was playing against Palace as I was level with the roll of the ball. Yesterday from higher up I couldn’t notice it.

And he slipped over after one goal-kick in the second-half after the pitch had been heavily watered at half-time. it was a minor heart in mouth moment that he had not got injured, and was still a great kick out though!

Yes its dreadful, and yes we should expect bowling greens at this level.

Wouldn't categorize it as dreadful, but you're probably right about the requisite standards at this level, in this age. Hadn't heard of the players complaining?
