A question for all four teams ahead of the play off semi finals and I'm not thinking ahead as a Brentford fan as semi will be tough but just curious as a fan of an EFL club.

In regards the final is there any chance from a political viewpoint they'll move the date of the play off final? Turkey has been added to the red list and it is surely inevitable a significant amount of pressure will be put on UEFA to move the CL final to England from the top of government, FA etc.

Would the EFL have the power or will to say no to moving their final if the powers wanted to host a CL at Wembley at short notice?

Why play any CL Final at Wembley? They won't be able to get 10,000 in. Might as well play at Old Trafford.

Ahh I wasn't too far wrong with my thinking then; the Champions League Final is on a whole different scale and the EFL may not be able to push back if there is too much pressure. Lets see what happens but I guess the EFL/Sky Sports won't agree to any request free of charge either; but at the same time there might be a good deal available for the EFL in particular which results in a change of venue but with the same day/time slot.

It was mentioned on TalkSport earlier with Aston Villa making Villa Park available.
I was hoping for the Champions league final to be shifted to Brum tbh.
If the Championship Play off final is to be moved then why not Tottenham or Arsenal or even Stamford Bridge?

I hope it does move date purely for selfish reasons.
I have no hope of getting the day off as it currently sits.
If they move it though at least it would give our trailblazing club the chance to be the first to lose in yet another new venue, like the “lucky” dressing room.

(By the way, I am 100% convinced that this year is our time.)

I would have thought the two clubs in final have the most say about this as part of all encompassing discussion.

Why should it be Wembley? Understand them not giving it to a ESL ground but surely West Ham, Newcastle or even the Millennium would fit the bill? Especially with a reduced attendance..

I guess it depends on those club's summer plans in regards pitch works etc. It's been reported most clubs are due to carry out extensive pitch refurbs during the close season.

At the minute it doesn't matter to us as the final is still a distance away and a big challenge in terms of qualifying for it. Tottenham would be ideal but two finals in North London on the same day might not get approval plus Levy would charge a fortune to use their stadium.

There is potential Euro participants playing in the championship play off final, plus it's been a long season so I don't see the date/time being changed. The more I consider it; the decision is likely to be made before the 2nd leg of all semi finals and as Villa Park is available, it's likely to host all three EFL finals as it isn't UEFA approved - my guess is UEFA will say ok if it's England it has to be Wembley for obvious commerical/media facilities etc.

The Police might not want a second final being played in London, and due to crowds out in Manchester that day wouldn't want a final in that city either making Villa Park the obvious choice.

PO Final: Saturday 3pm
CL Final: Saturday 8pm

* London or Manchester for CL Final as fewer people travelling "inter city"
* Two of: Wembley, Spurs. Old Trafford
* Press Facilities will be key to CL
* CL cannot change date or time - TV contracts
* Champ PO cannot move to later than Saturday as players need to join-up with Euro squads the following day (however UEFA may provide some wiggle-room as organisers of both competitions)

Choices
* Move Champ PO Final to Friday evening - unlikely that Sky will agree
* Play two finals in different venues.

Outcome
* UEFA turn-down OT on basis of press facilities.
* CL or PO Final go to Spurs.

Crowds, especially with anyone coming from overseas, are the last thing that is needed, even in this stage of the pandemic.

Or, swap the League Two and Championship final dates.

The Championship final stays at Wembley but on BH Monday while the League Two final moves to another venue

But it's on the Saturday because the players need to be released for the Euros.

Maybe we should move it to Salford it holds 5,100. So they can give all the tickets to corporates and make sure all the other fans don't have to get angry with each other.

A change of venue could be exactly what we need to win a play-off final. I'd feel much more confident if it were played somewhere else.

Only choices from this list (if accurate) would be: Wembley, Old Trafford, Millennium or Hampden Park. Spurs new stadium isn't "on the list" which may be because i) it hasn't be assessed ii) the list is out of date

AVFC have offered up Villa Park but Sky are reporting that it is not up to required standard especially around media and press facilities - so forget that idea.

Nothing to stop CL going to Wembley and EFL playing where they like and not just in one of the above stadiums however.

Given the ownership of the two clubs in the CL final, namely, Chelsea being owned by a Russian oligarch and Man City owned by an Abu Dhabi sheikh, they should thus move the CL final to a place equal distance between their 2 countries which I believe is Zhanatas, Kazakhstan

Wembley never brought us nothing but heartache, and it's a corporate sh*thole to boot, so I'm all for an alternative. But, I feel a bit for the players; I'm sure they'd love to tick 'played at Wembley' off their life list, whereas the pampered princes of the Champions League have probably played there a million times.

They "played at Wembley" at the end of last season

If it's us in the final I think we'll treat it a lot differently than the end of last season. We very much treated it like a final; like a big occasion and an opportunity to play at Wembley - all understandable.

Fulham treated it like just another match as they'd been there before. I wouldn't expect us to give the occasion or venue much consideration if we were to get back to the final; the only focus would be winning so venue might not be as big of an issue, in fact it may help us if it weren't Wembley.

Whoever gets to the final won't have as much media to deal with either building up the occasion. All the papers, news channel's, Radio etc will be solely concentrating on an all English CL final, this years PO final will be pushed down the agenda.

I’ve just worked a sixteen hour double shift so I can have the 29th off.....and there is no more time off available over that weekend.
If the play off final is moved to another day, there will be murders.

I hope they move it, playing at a smaller ground might help us, we need to break the hoodoo so let’s try something completely different.

Happy for our game to be moved from Wembley. It's not exactly a lucky ground for us.

Yes, I think the pressure on us this year is different.

Last year it was a nervous/excited feeling of, "oh my gosh, we could actually get promoted". This year, it feels like, "We have to do this", which hopefully will translate into focused professional performances.

It shouldn’t be Turkey because it’s in the red zone, but there are other European countries which could hold the final. After all, they’ve got nothing on, have they!

Kenilworth Road is, clearly, the only viable option for the play off final.
