I'm now beginning to see his worth. This division really suits him. In the Championship, I felt he was a bit of a liability, however on the showing so far this season, I think he's been exceptional 👏
I also thought Pontus’ distribution was exceptionally good today. Really classy. Although he had no choice as Zanka was always giving him a sideways ball, rather than taking it forward himself !

Totally agree, Best performance in a Brentford shirt tonight. I think his decision making has approved so much this season and seems to have cut out the fly in with no chance of winning the ball moments.

Thought he had the measure of Lukaku aerially and was better playing out than in any game prior this season.

Needs to find a way of putting ball into net though!

Calmness personified at times and some nice passes into the feet of the forwards that broke the lines a bit and pulled their defenders out of position.
Looked in his element out there and kept Lokaku very quiet

I would say (not to downplay Jansson’s performance) that Lukaku was basically quite poor and that was less of a test for our captain than, say, Antonio was vs West Ham or Vardy is likely to be next week.

He is a man mountain ….made for this level ….should be top scorer at the moment …what a defender and I did say on here after we beat Leeds back in April 2019 at griffin park I couldn’t see what all the fuss was about him by so called fans and pundits …sorry Pontus since u came to the club u have made a massive difference to our defence u r a proper defender

Still can't beleive how well he has made the step up to PL. His game was superb against Chelsea and really it is one of the best ever performances by a Brentford player in the clubs history. I cannot give him enough accolades. Against one of the best strikers in the world, against one of the best clubs in the world. Immense.

Definitely a strong argument for them being one of the best teams at the moment but not sure they will ever be one of the worlds best clubs… horrible fan base, dubious problematic ownership, bought success as just a handful of reasons.

Team or club. Its just the quality and depth of squad is scary. To be able to cope without Rudiger, Mount, Ziyech and Thiago Silva and not miss them. Their young defender on his 1st start was amazing

Completely agree mate.

And despite Tuchel’s backhanded insults about us treating like a cup game etc we’ve shown we also have the quality and depth (five potential starters/first subs out) to compete as equals with teams of this ilk.

The team is impressive
The club isn’t

Didn't have a problem when he played against us.

Great performance, if we continue to manage him and with fewer games in the prem he could be good for a further 2 seasons here. In both parties interest, he is back to his best.

Far and away his best game for Brentford. Probably best game in England.
He seems to have got over the injury problems that dogged him last season. He has steadily improved since then and I agree this was his best game for us. Lets not forget how influential a captain he is too. Inspired signing to help get us up to the PL and has looked the part in the tough games we have just come through.

What the.... he went to a pub near Stamford Bridge with a mate then walked to the ground? What level of craziness is that.

(y) :D"The Brentford player visited a supporter pub at Earls Court before kick-off and then marched towards the stadium alongside the other fans. With him as extra support, he had, on the day in honor, teammate and Norwegian national team player Kristoffer Ajer."

Malmö have never won an away game in the Champions League. Hopefully that changes tonight :) 🇸🇪

A useful experience in helping Pontus conclude he’ll be well above Malmo’s playing standard for at least a couple of seasons.

Looking at that photo outside I wouldn't be in that crowd without a mask - inside or outside. We can't afford to have games cancelled due to covid.

If it does it'll be very difficult for him to do the "No Celebration" celebration consider how it's been a long time coming.
Anyone have an idea what Pontus's Xg is since becoming a Bee?
Not something I count myself, but had a quick look and it is circa 3.25 from 72 apps ..............feels like almost that much this season to be honest !

He scored 9 from an xG of 7.36 for Leeds.

446 per 100k at the moment have covid across the UK, so less than 200 people (on average) in the whole 40k stadium last night. How many of that 200 would he be in close proximity to? Who knows.

Also masks generally protect others from the person wearing the mask if they have covid. Pontus wearing a mask would not offer much protection if others around him didn't have one on.

Assume he's double jabbed too, as 90%+ of our squad are......

No wonder we have the highest rate of covid in this country with that response.

I live in Ireland and we have much more stringent restrictions still in place, including masks in many settings, I'm happy wearing mine. I think you may have read meaning into my post that isn't there.
