Presumably we will be sending a B Team to Beveree for the game against Hampton and Richmond Borough on 18th July.

Arsenal are planning on going to USA

So the PL teams are still hoping on their normal shirt selling in the USA and Asia and travelling thousands of air miles

Personally Hampton and Southend sound much better

Its only a blink of an eyelid ago that Southend were very much one of our peers. It's utterly bizarre to think that the gap is now so wide that we might even consider sending our B team to play them.
To be fair, it's only a few years ago that we made something like 10 changes for a League Cup tie at Southend and beat them comfortably, playing scintillating football.

Gaffer Here,

should this happen, match fee will be reduced by £50.00 to £25.00 only - based on the
fact the opposition is not all that.

Should be paying us to set foot in that dump ;)

I know, I thought that just after I wrote it. Sounded a bit arrogant, if I was a Southend fan I'd be fuming! What have I become????

Yes it is weird. 2006 promotion run-in, where they succeeded and we didn't.
I had the same feeling when I saw some Orient fans off to away game at Maidenhead United a few years ago. That could have been us with different fortunes over an even smaller period of time.

I had a daft idea that now we have finally won a showpiece final, we should arrange a friendly with each of the 7 teams who beat us before so we have a chance to make amends. None is currently EPL. In no particular order: Wigan, Stoke, Port Vale, Crewe, Yeovil, Carlisle, Fulham.

I reckon there may be 1 or 2 very big ones to look forward to.. Given our contacts through the B team.

Midtjylland is the one I have always wanted to see but the timings of the two leagues never work.

Should we not be thinking of friendlies with the likes of Barcelona, Bayern Munich and PSG rather than 2nd rate teams such as Rangers (Queens Park or Glasgow)?

Is that going to be an official Stadium Opening, or is that going to wait until we can have 100% in?

I am sure we could if we could only tap into the British Asian reservoir of talent.
It’d be quite fun to go to Kolkata and play Mohan Bagan in front of 100k but Covid aside I’m not sure playing in 40C and high humidity in monsoon season would be high on the players’ wish list. Might help shift any close season weight gain as a 90 minute sauna session though!
