Would this be the same Rangers that caused all kinds of shenanigins in Manchester at the UEFA Cup final?

Yes. Most clubs could point to one incident in the past where their fans behaviour let them down and made headlines.

Here, there and everywhere......

I think there's been a few over the years. Can't remember the last time they were allowed to play in London for a friendly. Tottenham's was the last one I can remember and it was carnage...

Would it not be better to use your personal GPG user name rather than BFC Offical if you're going to address supporters in this way?

I agree, BFC official should not address fans in this way when many 'posters' criticise the club ( rightly or wrongly )
Rather rude tbh and in all fairness why pick out certain people's posts for a seemingly unprofessional response and yet let others on a variety of different threads go without comment. A certain level of professionalism has been lost by BFC Official

I can't wait for the 0-0 result at Port Vale so that those having a good moan have something important to carry on about!

wow there's a right bunch of moaners on here.

All this is only detrimental to LR.

No-one was hurt, perhaps mistakes we're made (although I fail to see why people posting here think they know all the details about how a match is put on and policed), lessons will be learnt...why are people persisting?

Let it go.

If you want to have a right old moan then email the club - keep it off the GPG.

...does not compute...

In what way would me emailing the club with my comment instead, help stop people moaning on here about something that is detrimental to LR.

Standard response one expects on here really though, so thanks.

I don't understand the above post but what smiffybee is saying is the GPG IS the place for moaning and long may it continue.

I just can't see the need to keep going on about it. Of course a messageboard is the place for discussion/debate and a right old moan, my point was simply that I can't see the need to keep escalating the Celtic debacle in a public forum, with one of the most important decisions in our history (that is based in part on public support for the club) going on.

Can I reiterate that the game was a great advert for football and the atmosphere was superb.Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Seen far worse trouble in the past at football and a lot more besides.

Wouldnt you like to know
rebus already made a point of this on Twitter recently, when I was initially critical of the original ticket arrangements. If 'outing' me as a freelance journalist on here adds credence to his point, let him do it. I hasten to add that the only articles I have ever written about BFC have been in support of the club and its fans (Karl Robinson bottle-gate, raising awareness of Ticketzone fraud before the club itself).

I post on the GPG as a Brentford supporter. Perhaps the club should consider letting somebody less condescending represent BFC officially on the GPG as he's doing them no favours.

He blocked me on twitter though I've never tried to follow him lol

I can't be bothered to drag up the original naming and shaming disgrace zzzzz

Can everyone just move on please!
Was it a good game - yes
was it a good test for the team - yes
was the pitch damaged - no
were the goals damaged - no
was the atmosphere good - yes
did a few jocks invade the pitch - yes.
will they do the same a Wembley next month - probably!

Bournemouth got Real Madrid.
Shrewsbury got Galatasaray.
Swindon got Spurs.

And we got an SPL Reserve Team for £25 a pop, a (likely) financial loss, a PR nightmare, our fanbase angered over ticketing arrangements etc, oh and the residents around GP severely discomforted.

I don't blame the club for trying something new, but I do expect them to have a degree of foresight and ability to plan and control events.

Imo, they got this one badly wrong on a number of counts, which considering much of it might have been anticipated (indeed was), is a sorry indictment.

Totally agree. At best it was a rather stupid friendly to arrange. Lots of aggro for little return. However, time to move on and hopefully no long term damage in terms of planning permission or any financial loss to the club.
