I for one didn’t know these actually existed but met a fellow Bee last week whom used to post on GPG. Clicked on his profile this morning and found some messages he had previously sent (I assume he thought it was a PM) viewable to all.

Do all GPG members know that their profile posts are viewable to all? If not how does one go about deleting it. I clicked on mine and thankfully I don’t have any.

In your profile under Privacy, you determine who can post and see Profile Posts. If you want to interact like Private Messages on the previous software, use Conversations which are private by default.

Sssh Indian Bee .. I enjoy reading them .. some great “private” messages being sent out! 🤣

Ha. Well I only saw a couple but saw one GPGer member offering another one out :)

I enjoyed one message that said ‘between me and you and don’t tell anyone but …..’

On a serious note there are some fellow GPGers personal details which should never be viewable to all. Suggest if it is possible for the MODs to somehow change these settings collectively if possible for all.

Out of interest following your original post, I just clicked randomly on a number of members’ avatars. Showed me virtually nothing. Should I be doing something else in order to snoop? 🧐

Yes, if you post on someone's profile, you're doing exactly that - it's not private, and never was. I do remove some that are plainly private when I trip over them.

My view is what I have seen about 99% would be deemed to be private. Not sure GPGers would list their numbers for example or abuse another GPGer (as I have seen) if they knew it could be viewed by everyone including those not GPG members

Well done @Banana for removing/ accessing this function. Certainly saved some embarrassment for a few (well known) posters.
