Well, it looks like the family Mazz may well be on the move soon. Does anyone have any contacts in the removals trade who might be willing to do a deal to help save Mazz a bob or two? I have a brown envolope within which to stuff cash if this helps?

We're not talking a man with a van here mind, we're talking cluttered, two bedroomed house .

Goddards of Brentford are good. Good BEES links as well.
Will certainly pop down and talk to them. But I'm rather hoping to find someone with access to the lorry who wants to do a bit of "private", if you get my drift. ;)

You need a 3.5 tonner.Cash in hand job.Budget?
I was hoping to do it for a monkey. BUT, there is a slight snag. The move will be to the Isle of Wight - so ferry involved. Could be pricey for commercial vehicle? :(

I've been on a comparison website called uk-removal.co.uk. It's sort of confused.com with lorries. They've forwarded my details to six companies who will apparently be in touch with a quote. One of them is Simply Removals. :sorted:

If you do go with them also they send over a £20 M&S voucher for who recommends you to them. My bro got it for recommending me and I got it for recommending a neighbour. No pressure mind ;)

oooooh. I really cannot remember mate. It was very competitive compared to the rest. But we moved from a very small two bedroom house and only about 500 meters down the road! I *think* it was £620. Just checked with the wife and she said "about 600 pounds" also she says the people we recommended use them they had a worse experience than us and got things broken but apparantly got all their money back in compensation so seem a decent company.

:nono: Not so. I haven't got a proverbial pot and rest assured the credit cards will have to be cained. What I'm actually doing is committing financial suicide. I will be getting the family out there first but spending 4 -5 days a week in London myself on someone's floor while I continue to work the old nightshifts and try to get my business going on the island. Every nerve end in my body is screaming "don't do it". But we're going to because it's what we want. Nobody ever got anywhere without taking risks. :looks:

Yes. I do 4 12 hour nightshifts a week (Mon-Thu) at the moment at the cab office and usually manage to pick up a gig or two at the weekends to top our money up. The plan is to still come back every week to work at the cab office and kip upstairs above the office during the day and go "home" at weekends and build the DJ'ing bit up on the island - plenty of opportunities for that. Mainly seasonal - but not all. Then I hope to find a job on the island which will obviously pay less, but could be boosted by the DJ'ing income.

It will play havoc with Bee watching, but having said that, I struggle with that even now due to my working hours. I had a pint with IslandBee when we were over there last year and he's a smashing fella who manages to get to several games a season. And we keep in touch with email/PM's on here so I expect there are possibilities there. :sorted:.

MAZZ good luck. I've got a place in Selsey and is like stepping back into the 1950's. The IOW is like going pre-war (the 1st). Hope you still have some LSD - and I mean the money.

lol I know what you mean. Isle of Wight is an aquired taste. But we know what we're getting in to. We've spent a lot of time on the island over the years and know it inside out. I know exactly where to go for buckets of water, candles etc. The biggest downer is that I've got a holiday booked in August two roads away from where it looks like we're going to be living. But if it all comes off, we've decided we're going to load the car up and go on it anyway for a giggle. Just pop home a couple of times a day to feed the cats and dog. :D

I like your style. My old Sunday football club who I still tour with booked an Easter tour (alright more of an extended booze-up) to Selsey a couple of years ago. I chose to stay in my own Bungalow rather than share a choice of 3 caravans all with 5 other blokes in. Had a great time though and watched Mungo Jerry live in the caravan park club house. They were actually very good.

I go to the Isle Of Wight every year. It is like going back to the 1950's but for all the good reasons.
Good luck with the move and if it doesn't work out at least you have had the bottle to try it and will not have any regrets.
Keep them updated on Simon Moore, they are very proud of him.

You could be the Brentford FC Scout of the Isle of Wight?! They were looking for club scouts in surrounding Counties. :sorted: extra pennies

Just don't dress up in tight shorts, sandals and a cap when "scouting". You could give the wrong impression. :nono:

Best of luck :sorted:

WHY NOT SELL the holiday flat or cottage holiday. Far more sensible since you need every penny for the new business.
