I think he will still be with us next season tbh - he hasn't generated the required "buzz" to get the Premier League clubs interested, there's too many agents pushing their Carlos Kickaball clients. I will enjoy watching this class act again next season - their loss is our gain...

He’s on a big, long, and I assume pretty lucrative contract. We don’t need to sell. Can’t see anyone too impressive coming in for him. He’ll be here I reckon. This is a slightly new era, the odd big sale but no more ripping up the whole squad.

I think he owes us at least one more good season. This year is the first one he's been able to perform regularly, free from injury. Plus we have no-one else fit to lace his boots in that position.

He's had one full season of games, I'm not sure that makes him more than a 'watch this one'.

Roerslev seems to play right-footed left-back when Henry is out, which makes me fearful for Dom Thompson's development. Would not be surprised if we don't get another young LB from Denmark or somewhere and loan Thompson out.

His consistency and number of games is another of the highlights for me this season.

Hes a solid player, great at pace/work rate/tackling

BUT

He has only played one full season
His final ball is pretty poor for the posistions he gets into - Hull away and Swansea at home is the only assists i can remember. Put this into context Liverpool wing backs had 12 & 13 this season in a 38 game season. Even Cesar Asp. from Chelsea had 6!
He often is a bit erratic when defending

In summary, if we can get £10/12m - i wont be too sad.

Written Reasons for Overturn of Dismissal are out

12. Having viewed the available footage of the incident on numerous occasions and in great detail and having considered the Club’s submissions, the Regulatory Commission unanimously agreed that the Referee had erred in his interpretation of the incident. Both players were running at speed towards the ball. The Brentford player made a sliding tackle with a straight right leg, attempting to play the ball. His eyes were fixed on the ball and he was in control at all times. It is evident from the video footage that despite the opposing player getting the first touch on the ball, the Brentford player then made contact with the ball which clearly changed direction, going out over the touchline. It is possible that the Referee’s view was obscured at the point of contact. However, it could not be said that the Brentford player used excessive force and brutality in making the challenge.

13. Accordingly, it is the unanimous view of the Regulatory Commission that the Referee was in fact incorrect to dismiss the player pursuant to the Laws of the Game.

14. The Regulatory Commission acknowledged the importance of the referee making his decision at the exact time the offence was committed and his judgment at that point. Equally, it is not the role of Regulatory Commission to re-referee the incident.

15. The Appeal is therefore upheld.

I bet you must feel a bit silly now rofl , I suppose everybody has there own opinion on what a player should acquire to be able to play top flight football. Like myself I bet you couldn't scout out a bloke in a women's team.

Rico, don't go to Villa, Smith will be sacked if he doesn't get off to a good start and you'll be managed by John Terry............don't do it.

But on the flip side, you'd be a Premier League player, get an inevitable pay rise (possibly life changing) be reunited with the first manager to give you a break in football & move closer to your family & friends in the midlands. Increased exposure, possiblity of getting near the England squad, Plus you'd know 4, 5 or 6 people already at the club.

I don't see Villa paying up though to be honest.

He will play for England. If he stays at Brentford he will delay that process by another year so it would be in his best imterest to move on but definitely not ours.

I do not disagree with your post other than the last bit. Henry is at peak value. One unlucky injury sometime in the next 3/4 months could change everything for both him and us. Strike while the iron is hot and sell. We will replace with better. The Liverpool left back looks to be just the ticket.

You are correct, he is at his peak value however I was selfishly looking at it from a player on the pitch point of view

Rico is one of the players pictured attending a 5-day training camp at St George's Park.

23, the best left back in the Championship and wouldn't look out of place in nearly all PL sides. 10 million go away. I would be more upset losing Rico than OW and SB. .......he is THE BEST left back we've ever had.

They don't.
Dont they? Have you seen their transfer dealings over the last few seasons. They are very clued up with their player recruitment and sales.

Maguire signed for 17mill sold for 80mill
Drinkwater signed for 850K sold for 35mill
Kante signed for 5mill sold for 32mill
Mahrez signed for 450K sold for 60mill
Chillwell (youth team) sold for 50-60mill

Didn't we sign him on a deal that could rise to 5 million?

If that's the case, what incentive is there to sell our league 1 signing - to a Premier League club, for just 10 million. He's only recently signed a new deal.

That financial gain doesn't cover his improvements from League 1 prospect to Premier League ready. Especially as we're linked to a league 1 striker at a cost of 9-10 million.

Thomas and the DOF's know how important he is to us and how hard it would be to find a replacement.............So give him a big pay rise and hope he stays for another season ( at least) ?

There's a left back domino effect, from Chilwell and the rumours that Joe Bryan is in-play, with FFC buying Antonee Robinson, so SkyBot and the followers are trying to find left backs to throw into the pot. Add to that WHU fans liking Rico's 63 minute appearance on YouTube and there's a lot of froth about.

Everyone has off days. Mad to say Rico is poor defensively he is one of the best left backs in the country defensively and only decent going forward. You have it backwards!

I do want to see more of Dominic Thompson, so playing Rico at Right back enables that but also gives Rico experience of playing this side too. Maybe worth a small bet on firstgoalscorer or am I crazy?

Currently 28/1 with bet365
