Where did you hear that? Would be a great boost!
No more than "friend of a friend" I'm afraid.....
Said the following:

"Dalsgaard’s played his last game for the Bees, JDS out until Oct/Nov, but Rico likely to start on Saturday".........

Yeah, I thought that too......
Maybe the "silver lining" if Rico is nowhere to be seen on Saturday, would be that the comment about JDS is probably BS too......

Yeh, I mean I thought it was just a 'minor' hip injury? Would have to be something very major for him to be out that long?

I hadn't heard Oct /Nov but I certainly heard that he wouldn't be fit for the start of next season.

If surgery is involved that would be about right. Whatever the issue, it is best addressed positively now rather than taking risks.

This thread is supposed to be about Rico H - and this is a very (very, very) vague rumour. But if by any chance he does play on Saturday, who would he replace in our current system?

I’d guess Sergi at LWB who could come on for him second half. I doubt after the work to get the team playing its new formation Frank would immediately revert to 433 so it’d be good for Rico to get practice in the 352 while giving us the option of the bigger tactical switch.

If we do that would be interesting to see Sergi moved into the AM role. Would give us the drive forward and into the box that we're still lacking from midfield..

A series of '"ifs" but that seem the most logical swap. Rico at LWB and Sergi moves inside to replace Tarique in the formation, there must be a bit of connection between the two in their memories, plus it will allow Sergi to pop up either side.

In preseason (eg iirc v West Ham) Rico and Sergi worked well with Rico playing very wide to pick out Sergi inside the penalty area rather than just playing longer crosses across the box (which he’s weaker at than he might want to be, barring the odd occasion it comes off, he’s certainly behind Fosu and possibly even Roerslev at such balls). It also allowed Rico to vary that by cutting back to JDS.

Rico, needs a B team game of sorts, I would've thought, before any hope of him being involved in the 1st team

Why? If he's ready for a B team game he's ready for Saturday. The fame probably means even less than a B team game for us seeing as no matter the result we won't finish any higher or lower than we already are. In normal circumstances I'd agree but Saturday is basically a pre playoff friendly really.

reckon Sergi could also do a job partnering Ivan, if needed... Mbeumo and Ghoddos could also be interesting options for that, but it could well be that a "genuine" striker (Forss) is best and he might be bouncing after finally scoring last week... (nice to have options!!)

Rico back would be a big boost, and you'd have thought he's had time to get there... fingers crossed

Recent video from the club has Rico/Goode doing some Q&A. Might be looking too much into it but Rico was certainly at the training ground and isn't on crutches or anything - possible will be seeing him this weekend?!

I'm pleased if he's back and available for the PO's but at the same time it slightly bothers me that we might tinker with what has become a good system for us. We are defensively much sounder with the 3 CB's and Wing-backs.

I therefore hope we keep the system and if Rico is to play then the LWB is the slot with Canos and Mbeumo being utilised elsewhere.

In the same way that a player getting injured sometimes leads to an unexpected positive change, a player coming back and trying to fit him in can be an impairment. Rico is quality of course and his pace and engine in the LWB will hopefully be a big positive for us.

I reckon we might have Henry and Canos as wing backs with Roerslev missing out. That's sounds pretty exciting tbh.

If he’s fit enough he comes back in for me as adds another dimension to our attacking play with his pace.

Not for me - Roerslev has dealt with 2 of the best wingers in the division in the past 3 games and has that bit of quality in the opposition box to pick out a player. It is a nice headache to have though as you can make a case for several players who may not start in the playoffs.

Disappointing. Could’ve done with Rico as a start or sub option. Damn it!!

Why “hide him”?! Pointless.
Because for all they know, he is injured and still out. Even we believe he is still out. But a BCD match with him listed as trialist would give him game time without the spotlight of fans thinking he is back and ready, and Bournemouth, in this case, not knowing how his recovery is going along.

Bournemouth know exactly how his recovery is coming along - they listen to Thomas's updates too.

I think we're at the point now where the only appearance he's going to make in the stands.

And it means he’s not being sold in the summer

Yes but I don’t want to revert back to the 4-3-3 as I think 3-5-2 (or 3-5-1-1) is the best way forward.

'Tweaking' in the playoffs is a sign you've got no idea what your best side is. At this point we have a way we play, the players are comfortable and we're winning, we stick with it in the playoffs. Think we next see Rico in an August preseason friendly at Slough Town.

Fulham tweaked their system to beat us in the play offs, we smashed them twice and they adopted high press and foul and beat us hands down in the final.
