Thought he looked a bit off the pace first half. Better in the second but we looked more threatening when Sergi moved that side. Just match fitness but we do need to work on his final ball.

I think we need to get his contract renewed. If he has a good season, which none of us doubt he will, then clubs will be all over him and there will only be one season left before it expires

You have to remember who hes up against. Pepe has real pace and skill. We cant just flood forward and commit players all the time. Its a credit to Rico that al the Arsenal attacks came down the other wing. Pepe didnt have a sniff all game.

Pinnock seemed reluctant to hit him early when he had the ball in the first half.
Anyway, Rico is a class player. I'm glad the too teams all have a good selection of left backs otherwise he would be snapped up ASAP

Feel like I find myself taking Rico for granted sometimes, especially his defensive skills. Such a wonderful player and had a great recovery tackle on Cash (I think)

Really good again; his aerial ability for his size is an absolute joke, he has a speed advantage against almost every opponent, his first touch superb and whilst not the most technical his passing/decision making on the ball is excellent.
Obviously the finish was missing for the big chance today and we all know his final ball can be improved but overall he’s been great stepping up.

I think Rico’s miss was just unlucky. If he had smashed it and it hit the goalkeeper or defender, we might have called him selfish. As it was he cleverly angled it to the far post (which we usually want people to do as it maximises chances from a rebound), and just got the angle fractionally wrong. If it had even hit the post, then our attacker (Bryan was it ?), would have followed it in.

Looked a better shot on Match of the Day than at the ground yesterday. In the first half he had acres of room but seemed be to bypassed on occasions.

Towards the end, when Villa broke away, Watkins had pretty much a clear run ahead of him, down our right flank. That was until Rico turned on the afterburners, to come across, catch him and cut off his run. He really does have an incredible burst of speed.
Thought it was a tough shot from that angle for a left footer having seen it back on MOTD. On target the keeper probably saves it, a right footer can curl it round the keeper out of his reach. Better option for Rico may have been to smash it at the near post.

People go on about Rico's final ball etc......................... All i care about before any of that is his defensive capabilities. Hes a top class defender. Thats what he was signed for, his speed, reading of the game and ariel ability is top notch.
The final ball will come, but the amount of times you hear pundits going on about Walker, Trent etc not being able to defend. Thats what they are paid to do.
Rico IMO will flourish in this league.
