Personally think his attacking,crossing goalscoring has improved dramatically in the last 2 seasons not always perfect but he’s made massive progress

One of the many 'if's' last night. Instead of shooting, he had squared to Bryan.......
That said, 'fix' all this and he won't be a Brentford player for long although we would have a lot of money in the bank!

Playing that ball square would have been a challenge for Salah- the gap between the chasing defender and onrushing keeper to slide through was small, fast shrinking and a tight angle. Though perhaps it might have led to an own goal had the defender not got a perfect interception.

I agree, but he really should have passed the ball to Mbeumo who was free last night rather than try scoring.

Yes he should have, and by look on his face after he knew it as well……
Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Rico may have thought because he'd broken their defensive lines that he was alone up top, so a blind pass to no one probably wasn't high up on his list.
As with any post match analysis, I'm sure the team will look at it and whoever is next in that position will stand to help a team mate score!

I think the ball got caught in his feet, allowing the defender to get back in the mix and cut off that option. Glad bryan didn't do himself a mischief as he took a swing at the post in frustration! Think Rico knew he was there, his face was a picture of frustration in the moment too... just a bit unlucky

I’f be surprised if he wasn’t involved with the England set up soon as well which would lead to more £££ if we get offers.

I completely agree Les. Rico has been the PL quality player we all knew he would be.
Unfortunately I can see several clubs coming in him. Hopefully we stand firm or can unearth another gem.

Now we are PL, another few ££££m will have been added to his value. To watch him tearing up the wing at full pelt last night was a sight to behold. Hope we can hang on to him. There are very, very few players like him about and he would now cost tens of millions to replace like with like.
Agree this is a good thing, however, if any top 6 clubs and / or England come knocking then I would think he may be entitled to a renegotiation of his current terms, as opposed to just triggering an extra year on these ones.
That being said, I think the option will add a good couple of million onto his price tag, if nothing else.

I don’t get why some posters aren’t believed when you consider their previous track record, if nana says we have a year’s option on what was made public then I’m pretty damn sure we have that option.

Usually options are only given, and exercised in order to get a fee at the end of a contract, so I would expect him to either sign a new contact, or move on at the end of this season one way or the other.

I perhaps should have added “of his ability, potential, value, and ability”. I doubt that the club would exercise Rico's contract extension only to allow him to run his contract down, and leave for free summer 2023. So to repeat IMO he will either sign a contract extension before the end of June or the option taken up and he be sold. That is of course if he is out of contract this summer, and that there is a club option. Even if the option/contract end is for summer 2023 then the kabove will be relevant a year later or when ever.
It gives us the option to sell him in both the Summer and Winter windows of his extended contract. (or Summer and the previous Winter if you like)
