TF says he should be fine for BHA

Personally think his attacking, crossing goalscoring has improved dramatically in the last 2 seasons not always perfect but he’s made massive progressWas fantastic last night BUT.. final ball!! I'm sure we're working on it, and he picked out one great ball for Jensen's chance but in general decision making goes awry in the final moments.. If he can nail that then he'll be England's no.3 for sure..
One of the many 'if's' last night. Instead of shooting, he had squared to Bryan.......Was fantastic last night BUT.. final ball!! Playing that ball square would have been a challenge for Salah- the gap between the chasing defender and onrushing keeper to slide through was small, fast shrinking and a tight angle. Though perhaps it might have led to an own goal had the defender not got a perfect interception. One of the many 'if's' last night. Instead of shooting, he had squared to Bryan.......
That said, 'fix' all this and he won't be a Brentford player for long although we would have a lot of money in the bank!
I agree, but he really should have passed the ball to Mbeumo who was free last night rather than try scoring. This is our most important signing to make.
Absolute class player, who always gives 100% and improves season on season.
His distribution and crossing have come on so much this season.
5 year deal for the man he is a 25 million pound player!
Yes he should have, and by look on his face after he knew it as well……I agree, but he really should have passed the ball to Mbeumo who was free last night rather than try scoring.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Rico may have thought because he'd broken their defensive lines that he was alone up top, so a blind pass to no one probably wasn't high up on his list.I agree, but he really should have passed the ball to Mbeumo who was free last night rather than try scoring.
Yes, exactly. Rico with an end product is a top 6 player! One of the many 'if's' last night. Instead of shooting, he had squared to Bryan.......

I think the ball got caught in his feet, allowing the defender to get back in the mix and cut off that option. Glad bryan didn't do himself a mischief as he took a swing at the post in frustration! Think Rico knew he was there, his face was a picture of frustration in the moment too... just a bit unluckyHindsight is a wonderful thing. As with any post match analysis, I'm sure the team will look at it and whoever is next in that position will stand to help a team mate score!
Great news so he still has a year 18 months plus option on another 12 months? So we have a year's option on Rico. Never been mentioned before AFAIK. So good news all round
correct.Great news so he still has a year 18 months plus option on another 12 months?
This is amazing news.correct.
Correct!This is amazing news.
To be honest, I wouldn't swap him for any money right now. He is too important to us.This is amazing news.
I’f be surprised if he wasn’t involved with the England set up soon as well which would lead to more £££ if we get offers.
I wonder if Newcastle would like to start the bidding at £30m.
I completely agree Les. Rico has been the PL quality player we all knew he would be.To be honest, I wouldn't swap him for any money right now. He is too important to us.
Now we are PL, another few ££££m will have been added to his value. To watch him tearing up the wing at full pelt last night was a sight to behold. Hope we can hang on to him. There are very, very few players like him about and he would now cost tens of millions to replace like with like.I completely agree Les. Rico has been the PL quality player we all knew he would be.
Unfortunately I can see several clubs coming in him. Hopefully we stand firm or can unearth another gem.
Agree this is a good thing, however, if any top 6 clubs and / or England come knocking then I would think he may be entitled to a renegotiation of his current terms, as opposed to just triggering an extra year on these ones.So we have a year's option on Rico. Never been mentioned before AFAIK. So good news all round
Nope, we have not, that is why it has never been mentioned. So we have a year's option on Rico. Never been mentioned before AFAIK. So good news all round
I'm afraid we don't have the year option. So only the 18 months left.Great news so he still has a year 18 months plus option on another 12 months?
New contract or off in the Summer then!I'm afraid we don't have the year option. So only the 18 months left.
And your source is?I'm afraid we don't have the year option. So only the 18 months left.
Simple. The club have never said there was an option. And your source is?
Pontus swapped his year option for Rico's Malmo tickets & 6 tins of Carlsberg at the start of OctoberSimple. The club have never said there was an option.

Simple. Read Bananas post above. You believe everything that is or isnt communicated by the club?Simple. The club have never said there was an option.
I don’t get why some posters aren’t believed when you consider their previous track record, if nana says we have a year’s option on what was made public then I’m pretty damn sure we have that option.
The only person I'd believe when it comes to player contracts is Lisa Skelhorn – I doubt she posts on here... so, in her absence, I'll go with the next best alternative.I don’t get why some posters aren’t believed when you consider their previous track record, if nana says we have a year’s option on what was made public then I’m pretty damn sure we have that option.
I'd believe Phil Giles more...The only person I'd believe when it comes to player contracts is Lisa Skelhorn – I doubt she posts on here... so, in her absence, I'll go with the next best alternative.
That’s the next best alternative!I'd believe Phil Giles more...
I have a feeling that was a hint at who told him about the option! That’s the next best alternative!
He is better than that/them.I wonder if Newcastle would like to start the bidding at £30m.
Usually options are only given, and exercised in order to get a fee at the end of a contract, so I would expect him to either sign a new contact, or move on at the end of this season one way or the other.Excellent news. I feared he was definitely gone in the summer but hopeful we can hold on to him a bit longer now.
Eh?!Usually options are only given, and exercised in order to get a fee at the end of a contract, so I would expect him to either sign a new contact, or move on at the end of this season one way or the other.
Got taken off with a tightening hammy v Chelski. Depends how that has developed or recovered.whats all der sh*t about about him being unavailable tonight ?
I perhaps should have added “of his ability, potential, value, and ability”. I doubt that the club would exercise Rico's contract extension only to allow him to run his contract down, and leave for free summer 2023. So to repeat IMO he will either sign a contract extension before the end of June or the option taken up and he be sold. That is of course if he is out of contract this summer, and that there is a club option. Even if the option/contract end is for summer 2023 then the kabove will be relevant a year later or when ever.Eh?!
It gives us the option to sell him in both the Summer and Winter windows of his extended contract. (or Summer and the previous Winter if you like). I doubt that the club would exercise Rico's contract extension only to allow him to run his contract down
Oh dear some people just don't understand these contracts. Good job Phil and Nana do.It gives us the option to sell him in both the Summer and Winter windows of his extended contract. (or Summer and the previous Winter if you like)
Hopefully he's ok for Man City.TF says he should be fine for BHA![]()
Even if he’s OK, I’d rest him for Villa.Hopefully he's ok for Man City.
We have a very decent goal difference to protect.Even if he’s OK, I’d rest him for Villa.
Can we ask Palace too?Brighton and Villa and other matches more important than Man City against whom, this season, we are on a hiding to nothing. Ask Leicester City.
Bloody hell how much do we miss him when he’s not there !
