Definitely. Not as pretty or as free-flowing but much harder to beat. Still a way to go, and I'm not sure that this team would have got to where the one did at the end of last season, but if they did, they would have beaten both Stoke and Barnsley.

Thinking about last season it's worth noting that after 15 games last year we had conceded the same amount of goals (13) but have scored 5 more this year. We also 5 points better off, funny old game innit?

Rotherham will cause teams plenty of problems. We did well in the second period after a bad first half. Credit to our back line and GK for solidity, good performances from Janelt and Jensen. Three points and clean sheet. Blackburn will be a benchmark test for us

Brilliant result. Janelt is a machine in CDM. He could be giving Norgaard problems getting back in the squad. I said earlier teams like this would either beat us last season or force an annoying draw. Did very well to get a clean sheet and 3 points. Disappointing to see a side commit so many snidely little fouls as part of their game plan - no mad double footed tackles or elbows in faces, just horrible tugs of the jersey or a foot left in to trip a player up. Rotherham have got some good players too.

I like a good, physical contest with 'proper' tackling. But there's a difference between that and the filth that Rovram served up. In non-league you might expect it but at this level they are just an embarrassment.

poor first half where we struggled to keep the ball, Fosu and mbeumo in particular giving it away. Second half we picked up the pace and played higher up the pitch. Fosu played further forward and we tried to get balls in behind their defence. Really well worked goal for Forss, nice ball in from Fosu, lovely touch from Toney and excellent finish. Pen icing on the cake and finished the game off. Thought JDS looked tired and struggled to make an impact. Fosu poor first half, excellent second. Great cameo from Canos. These are the sort of games we’d have lost 1-0 in previous seasons. We’re not playing that well but picking up the points. Will take that for the moment

Toney is an impressive individual. Confident, focussed and clearly a leader. Superb assist for Forss and a penalty cool as you like. Lots of tired hard workers out there. No one is hiding. I thought Jensen looked classy and Rico was excellent (yet again)
