Another result ground out against northern sh*thouses.

First half awful. Second half the quality came through and could have had a couple more.

Rotherham pumped it the air but we stood strong to it all.

we still know we are at about 50% at the moment.

Listening to Rotherham commentary on iFollow, beyond embarrassing. Those guys are adamant the committed next to no fouls??

I'm loving this.....I predicted a C L E A N S H E E T with Toney to score (but we went one better with Forss)
As I said before..."It's a numbers game" not always pretty, but 'pretty' effective!.....Great stuff BEES :bounce:

We’re not as fluent as last year, but are we more solid?
Definitely. Not as pretty or as free-flowing but much harder to beat. Still a way to go, and I'm not sure that this team would have got to where the one did at the end of last season, but if they did, they would have beaten both Stoke and Barnsley.

Absolutely exceptional again, we will struggle to keep him if we don’t go up. Certainly wouldn’t begrudge him a January move
A move in January, to the right club & he could make the England squad for the Euro's this summer. Wouldn't begrudge him it, brilliant every week for us.

Rotherham, ever happy to confirm stereotypes of northern anti-football. Foul on the ball, foul off the ball. Stop the flow of play. Pretend you're playing rugby. Hide what talent you have - and you have some decent players - behind crude, cheating, boring play.
Glad we beat them, they deserve to lose every match they play.

A truly professional performance against probably the dirtiest side I have seen for many a season. We kept patient, not fluid as previous years but we are ever so solid - with another clean sheet.

So many solid performances.

It’s a shame that it takes a move to a PL team to get noticed for England, certainly wouldn’t do worse than any of the back up options, especially when Southgate is playing the likes of Trippier at LB. Hey ho that’s another topic and slightly wishful thinking on my behalf.

WTF is Warne moaning to the ref about? Dirtiest side I've seen for a long time...
Home commentators saying we were getting away with a lot that the ref didn’t see/deal with but did say: “Good luck to em.”

Thinking about last season it's worth noting that after 15 games last year we had conceded the same amount of goals (13) but have scored 5 more this year. We also 5 points better off, funny old game innit?

Rotherham will cause teams plenty of problems. We did well in the second period after a bad first half. Credit to our back line and GK for solidity, good performances from Janelt and Jensen. Three points and clean sheet. Blackburn will be a benchmark test for us

Brilliant result. Janelt is a machine in CDM. He could be giving Norgaard problems getting back in the squad. I said earlier teams like this would either beat us last season or force an annoying draw. Did very well to get a clean sheet and 3 points. Expecting to see Henry, Janelt and Toney on team of the week.

The *only* thing he could have been saying was ‘thanks for not dishing out ten yellow cards and not sending McDonald off. The cheque‘s in the post’.

Disappointing to see a side commit so many snidely little fouls as part of their game plan - no mad double footed tackles or elbows in faces, just horrible tugs of the jersey or a foot left in to trip a player up. Rotherham have got some good players too.

I like a good, physical contest with 'proper' tackling. But there's a difference between that and the filth that Rovram served up. In non-league you might expect it but at this level they are just an embarrassment.

Nice bit of honesty on their message board:

Deserve nothing playing like that. Same old negative ****, cant string 3 passes together without kicking long to no man's land and we are the dirtiest team I have ever seen nearly half the team on yellow cards absolute disgrace.

What we have lost in fluidity and entertainment we have made up for in determination and streetwise(ness), whilst still always looking dangerous. If we can get Dasilva and Mbuemo back playing as they did last year we will have a great chance of promotion..... also have Norgaard to come back in.

Yeah from him. Lot of incredulity from other posters on that website. We went down too easily etc.

The level of persistent fouling in that game was ridiculous. Win at all costs is fair enough but still 😁

Excellent result, another clean sheet away from home, four on the trot. Just going to say one thing, Rico Henry is the best left back I've ever had the pleasure of watching in a Brentford shirt. Its almost embarrassing how good he is, so consistent. The next Bees player to progress to the Premier League, lets hope he's still wearing a Bees shirt when he does.

He has got to start booking these players Jesus wept,
Ref was a joke mate, that was part of their tactics to rough us up, they were a disgrace. Those tactics will get them relegated, as apart from injuries they will always have players suspended. I hope they go down, cloggers.

poor first half where we struggled to keep the ball, Fosu and mbeumo in particular giving it away. Second half we picked up the pace and played higher up the pitch. Fosu played further forward and we tried to get balls in behind their defence. Really well worked goal for Forss, nice ball in from Fosu, lovely touch from Toney and excellent finish. Pen icing on the cake and finished the game off. Thought JDS looked tired and struggled to make an impact. Fosu poor first half, excellent second. Great cameo from Canos. These are the sort of games we’d have lost 1-0 in previous seasons. We’re not playing that well but picking up the points. Will take that for the moment

That was impressive. Not pretty first half but effective. We are keeping things tight. We know how important it is for us not to fall behind in games where the opposition are set up to stonewall. Toney is an impressive individual. Confident, focussed and clearly a leader. Superb assist for Forss and a penalty cool as you like. Lots of tired hard workers out there. No one is hiding. I thought Jensen looked classy and Rico was excellent (yet again)

Glad you said that about Jensen cos i thought the same. Yet others on here do not seem to think so.

Sky showed the stats afterwards which showed they had 3 yellows (and a 4th for the red). I could have sword it was 6 or so! Felt like it.

Rotherham know they're not going to outclass opponents though, and had they tried we'd have been toasting a 4-0 win tonight. They're doing what they can, and doing it quite well. Dealing with fouling, disrupting teams is part of the game, and we did it well. It's much better to accept it will happen and deal with it, than to draw 0-0 and complain...

Very honest assessment by their manager afterwards.
