It is not my wish to usurp the sad news re Graham Marriner, but I have received from Thailand today a lot of photographs and memorabilia . They have also sent me a shirt and scarf from local team Chaingrai United.
Puts everything else in perspective as regards what going through currently... I wonder what that generation would make of today?

Again I do not want to usurp the sorrows of others , but I have had some pictures today from Thailand where they are celebrating Christmas for Roy at the places his ashes are kept, I am so glad that I elected to keep things in Thailand where people cared for him and he will never be alone

Not sure that I have mentioned this before , but in Thailand Roy was known as P Roy not sure what that meant but was a term of endearment.. Not that long ago I bought and sent to him a Brentford Shirt from club shop with that logo. I requested that be cremated with him.

You may be interested to know that in 2019 Roy needed to transfer what little money he had in England to Thailand in order for him to meet the qualifications to stay in Thailand. Santander said this was impossible unless he presented himself to one of their Branches in England, as a result he was forced to return to this country to do this resulting in an expense of at least £2000. Even then they refused to cancel the account and transfer funds on the same day meaning that he had to leave £20 with them as he was returning to Thailand the next day. All this was forgotten until I got a statement from Santander showing the £20. I wrote to them with all documentation except for death certificate but was able to show ample evidence that he had died, I told the I could get a cert if need be but as it was only £20it was likely to cost more than this to get it. After 3 months they have informed me that this totally impossible and that is the end of the matter.

So sorry. Tragic and sad. Makes me wonder if it's time to throw it all in. Life is unfair and callous.

I don't know how I missed this thread last year, I was off line for a while as I had lots of issues to deal with.
I did hear that Roy had passed away.
I remember having a drink with him and Bernie at the No to Woking, pre season friendly at Woking.
RIP Roy - Gone but not forgotten

Throw all what in? Yes it’s often unfair, it can’t be callous as it’s not a sentient being. It’s also a wonderful precious gift and sadness and happiness go hand in hand with it.
