When considering Denying Obvious Goal Scoring Opportunities (DOGSO) you need to factor a few things:
- distance between the offence and the goal
- general direction of the play
- likelihood of keeping or gaining control of the ball
- location and number of defenders
Distance between the foul and the goal straight away would rule a red card out for this as it occurred in Coventrys own half. There is still very much a lot to do, and with a defender defender bypass and another running in line with, there is still every chance of the defending team doing their job. The distance does not make it an obvious scoring chance.
I do agree that fouls out here should be reds too, the LOTG don't expect it.
