welcome Said. I believe the fee is around 3m. We don't spend this big unless we know he is quality. Looking forward to seeing him play.

I am expecting a couple of departures in the next couple of weeks.

Well done DOFs, looks like another really promising signing.
Well done marketing dept for shameless promotion of the ***** away kit.

We sign a new player at GP and make him wear the away kit? Why not he new home kit? Bonkers beyond belief!!!

I don't know if the club are taking the piss or think we are bunch of ****wits.

That aside, welcome aboard Said. :sorted:

Maybe they took the photos without realising they were going to release the kit today, and didn't want to wait to show him off?

If those running the club don’t know what’s going on, should they be running the club?

Perhaps they should start talking to each other and stop taking us for a bunch of mugs!

Having just got €650 for £613 for my week in Corfu quelle différence?
Off topic but that's a horrible rate. Just checked and Caxton is 1.1051 right now... £588.18.

pounds so we have already spent 6.25m on players ..... we need to expect two or three departures. Goodbye Woods and Flo ...
The DoFs probably know who is likely to go and how much for and are spending accordingly.

Why? How much have we received in the last 6 months in transfer fees and add-on payments? I'd guess around £6m.

As far as our accounts go, that's £6m across three and a half years. Under £2m per year.

Welcome Said.

Slightly disappointed the news has been out three hours and no one has made an anagram of his name yet

I think there's a much wider view than that.
Meaning?

You expect us to sell more than 2 or 3, or the opposite in that you think we should think broader and perhaps this is the year we are going to try and resist offers and keep hold of star players?

Very exciting signing. Just pausing to reflect that we've just spent 3m on an international winger. That's all.

if i may, i think it means that we don't try and break even in a specific transfer window (as Indian Bee kind of suggested). rather, we made some profits on transfer fees last year, so money is available to invest now (or whenever a player that we really fancy becomes available).

An interesting comment from a fan of Châteauroux, where he played on loan last season. Clearly, he has a view that Brentford play 'English football'!

If the transfer is confirmed, aside from the financial aspect, I do not see too much the interest that a player as technical as Benrahma goes to mix with the games of the second English division where the style of play is more like the "kick and rush" than anything else. Sportingly it is a regression.
It sounds like he's right up our chemin.

I hope you’ve put him right on how we play the game:)

Which could be paid for with Tarkowski, Button add ons should they move this window and fee received for Kerschbaumer

We went to Corfu a couple of weeks ago . Pleasantly surprised on how uncommercialised it is , Corfu Town ( Greek League two ) is a charming place to spend a few hours .Get into the side streets and find what the locals eat , chicken kebab 1 Euro !

Seems to have escaped people's notice that we've had our first pre-season friendly too!! This chap looks like a great acquisition.. just our kind of player, hope he can settle in quickly..
