Quicker feet and speed of thought than anyone else in a west ham shirt. What a waste.

"Why didn't they bring Benrahma on earlier" was the commentators first comment

They dont seem to want to pass to him.
He is not the best reader of the game and runs around demanding the irrespective of the position he or his teammates are in. Clearly when he was at Brentford they tried , and succeeded to a fair degree, to work with him on this but in this part of his game he is going backwards not helped by so many times coming off the bench. His skill and tricks make him a joy to watch and the approach could be just get the ball to him and see what happens but to really get the benefit of him you need him to be coached as was at BFC in different plays etc. I try to follow our big money sales and in main hope they succeed. Benrahma is of particular interest as I believe if he had stayed with us longer he would of become a far better player and I hope he still does but what I have seen of him at WHU makes me doubt it. He works harder in terms of running around but it is not productive and it’s unlikely under the current management they will not work with him to develop how he fits into a fluid attacking unit.

Ah the old "make something up to suit what I want to say" routine

Benrahma has started the last 7 league games for West Ham

Having spoken to two Hammers season ticket holders , they feel he perhaps need a goal under his belt to get into the groove of things. They both felt 50/50 about him , and hoped a little bit more from him so far.

Benrahma is doing fine and there is nothing wrong with how Wet Spam use him. Sometimes it seems like people are desperate to believe that other clubs and coaches don't know what they're doing. He is playing at a much higher level that's all.

Often the same people as those who berate Jensen for ‘doing nothing’ defensively, Canos for giving the ball away or not tracking back, etc etc etc. We gave Said a free pass because when his attacking play worked, it was devastating. Then many moaned at him for not producing it in the play off final. The point of coaching players in the rest of the game is to make it so they’re not passengers on the day the tricks don’t come off. We’d have wanted the same from Said had we gone up and expected to have been under the cosh in many games.

He is also playing in a team that do not play intricate attacking football and that is the issue, he was a focal point in our side that scored goals for fun. Moyes' West Ham is based on not conceding, they don't look to play it out, don't look to create movements off the ball, 1-2's, passages of play involving creating and exploiting space. They chucked Benrahma behind Haller and said do something, it's painful watching him try to link up with Jarrod Bowen as Bowen only has two options, shoot or cross. Fornals is a centre mid playing on the wing. Lanzini came on last night and instantly played a brilliant little 1-2 that resulted in Benrahma heading on goal.

The league is tougher and I think Benrahma is low on confidence and needs a goal or two to bring out the spark we saw in him, but make no mistake West Ham have bought a player their system doesn't allow for and that their manager doesn't know how or simply doesn't want to get the best out of him and the main reason he's still in the side is because of his tracking back. If he went to Villa or Leeds he would have bagged a few already and be in much brighter spirirts.

Totally agree! I don't feel like the Hammers way of playing suits Saïd very well. Let's hope we get the promotion and get him on our side.

If he were at Leeds, Bielsa would have him doing laps of Thorp Arch still. If he were at Villa, he’d only have come on now and again to give Grealish a rest or be learning how to play on the right.

Benrahma has started the last 7 league games for West Ham
.....played well away against Palace in a 3-1 win, excelled against Donny and wasn't shabby in the away wins against Weeds and Everton if my memory serves me right.

The only thing I'd say about deploying him in the hole as a 10 is that he has to drift/wander a bit more between midfield/attack and it does kill his USP as an attacking threat from the left.

In the minutes I watched of their cup game I thought they knocked it about quite nicely, some good movement and intricate play, being a bit harsh on DM on here (I appreciate how he comes across and his antics in our cup tie) but I think he is gradually turning them into a decent side to watch. Sorry GPG!

i find it fairly astonishing he still doesn’t speak English (in interviews at least)

anyone know if we pay for lessons for our foreign players or anything?
Speaking any second language to be fluent enough not to mis-speak in public interviews where there’ll be loads of people out to have a go is hard. He probably has enough English to chat to the lads.

Well what a surprise. Moyes with his handling of Benrahma continues to prove what an idiot he is. Said really needs a goal so against Sheffield United he’s put on the bench.

Yep. Sign a player for 25m+ then drop him for a guy on loan. Great long term thinking there from scroteface

West Ham are 5th, and above Liverpool and Spurs.
Moyes is doing just fine right now.

Don’t really understand why he keeps going in and out of the starting XI. He offered more in 10 mins than Lanzini did in 60.

still. Up to 5th!

Bring him back after Brentford wins promotion and he'll get the playing time a great player deserves

Yes but he only played 40 minutes against Man Utd last Tuesday. And West Ham don’t play again now til Sunday. And then it’s pretty much just weekly

to me it just seems Moyes isn’t totally happy with him. Every WH fan can see what he brings and how he improves the team.

2-0 up - 30 mins to go - Lanzini off Noble on

Perfectly logical for a conservative coach like Moyes, surely? TBH, with them 2 up, I was surprised to see him at all last night.

Yes maybe you don’t see it from the outside but Noble has got much worse last 18/24 months. He makes the team play worse and slower. Moyes seems to love the bloke tho.

Club Captain and bit-part player now. Will probably be an Ambassador and/or kids coach soon.

Yes. He is a fantastic servant for the club. But I think he needs to do the right thing and retire. But he probably wants fans to be there to say good bye. Which is fair enough.
