Waste of time for him there. Sense they're already close to writing him off. He needs to score a goal really or at least show why he cost so much

Can't disagree what a good season they've had, but the Hammers are experts at spunking money up the wall, aren't they? £20m for a bit part player who hasn't scored. Similar track record with Haller and a few others too. Really annoying, because if he'd stayed here, we'd be up by now.

This doesn't follow, for a variety of reasons. Take Mbeumo, for example. Fifteen goals last season, barely half a dozen this time round. Yet we've still contrived somehow to score 71 goals, well on course to equal or exceed last season's total of 80. Even without Benrahma, we're set to be the division's highest scoring team for the second season in succession.

Said got what he wanted, a move to a Premier League team with all the riches that brings. I can't imagine that he expected to smoothly move into a regular first team place, hopeful of it maybe. It's expected that acclimatisation takes a while, so starting straight away was unlikely. Also the team are doing much better than expected, how many on here said that they'd struggle?
For me I can't see what he regrets, just maybe that he's not getting the game time he'd like.

Funnily the defensive work Said’s had to do would make him a very good Roerslev replacement in the formation we used last weekend.

Brilliant player hasn't bit the dizzy heights of last season but if Moyes puts some faith in him he'll come good for them. Unfortunately in the premier League not many fans are patient enough. "Instant success" culture condemns many players very quickly.

Watched a bit of the last game, Benny came on and made two or three poor decisions when Moyes would have wanted him to keep hold of the ball. Was always going to be his downfall the fact that he can’t just showcase his skills every time he gets the ball in the Prem.

WHU are likely to be in Europe next season, Europa League at least, so he is going to get more opportunities as the squad will need to be rotated.

Moyes has managed him poorly imo and will knock the confidence out of him if he's not careful.

Would just rather he was playing first team football is all
If he’s looked occasionally like a fish out of water doing the defensive work Moyes expects I’m not sure Bielsaball would have suited him much better.

I doubt he'll be sold for more that we got paid, so I think he should stay at Wet Spam, we all smile to ourselves and hope he gets all the add-ons in the contract.

To me he would be an obvious replacement for Jack Grealish, playing for a manager who knows and rates him. Said for Villa!
He’s two footed enough to play the other wing where I think he’d be an upgrade on Villa’s options. As he did from time to time as part of the BMW switching wings with Grealish would make them less predictable. But I’d feel a little sad at him being successfully reunited with Ollie like that as it’d be a sign of what might have been with us.

Someone mentioned his defensive work under Moyes. But I always thought he was willing to put the hard work in with us. I guess he was given the confidence and believed in what we were working towards here so did the extra work.

He'll come good just needs time and for Moyes to work it out.

So many players work well with some bosses and not others. Unfortunately it can really stall some of there careers. And this is where I blame agents and the lure of money.

Making the correct move is vital to a long successful career than a short quick money one. Guess depends what motivates individuals.

He wasn’t lazy at it but he also wasn’t particularly effective or positionally disciplined in defensive duties. Under Moyes you can see, particularly early on, him having to think very hard about where he ought to be rather than playing instinctively as we encouraged him to. I agree he will come good for WH or someone else at PL level and be better for having learned to combine his natural flair with becoming surprisingly good defensively. Just as the Preston game showed how Bryan could develop if he combines his natural attacking flair with the defensive discipline he had.

The counter argument to this is that CL/Europa qualification will strengthen the manager's hand going into the summer window and he'll have more leverage in calling the shots with recruitment, sales, loans etc.

SB's aspirations didn't suddenly get sated by this move to WHU and he doesn't strike me as player who'll be content with this limited role under DM.

Zaha was shipped out as he didn't meet the brief set by Moyes at MUFC, personally I think the same fate will befall Said.

Somewhat ironic they chose Said to be the poster boy for this given how they're using him....

If they fancy loaning him back or selling at a discount if we go up I wouldn’t mind!

Just loan him back while still paying most of his wages. Sorted.

So pleased for him. He will kick on next season but he better not score against us next season.

...i really hope someone somewhere recognises his talent which allows him to leave the East End....West Ham are a decent outfit under Moyes....but Said really doesn't want to stay there too long.
