What about Southampton, they looked well short of inspiration from wide areas. Hassenhuttl basically said that some players look past their best. Plus I thought Djenepro was an absolute liability. A couple more poor performances and maybe they will get twitchy enough

Didn't a second rate Benrahma... Red something or other... limp out of the game yesterday?

Roy was gently playing the prospect down in that post-match interview saying they are focusing on signing a striker.
I wouldn't say that was "ending their interest" at all.
Might be a test of our asking price if we expect him to go but nobody else is in talks. Or.... just a football manager saying something honest.

Clearly, others who may have expressed an interest are not in the public domain, assuming there are any.

Still can't believe that the idiot press believe we would let him go for 23million they really must believe there own rubbish they print.

Surely even west ham fans dont believe this is at all possible
I wouldn't have thought £23m + add ons is a million miles away is it?

I think in today’s market we would bite someone’s hand off for £23 million for him.

Once the season finished, and we knew that Watkins and Benrahma were to be sold, 50mill for the two plus add ons seems a fair return in my opinion.

He did us and himself much good during the Lockdown and especially the Play Off’s he never played to the level of early in the season. Part of the problem was he played to much in the middle of the field not like early on when he played wide and cut in

Maybe im out of touch with the market but I thought we would demand more like £27 million plus add addtions as min based on the market value we have set with Watkins etc.

Sounds like I'm in minority so maybe the press have it right but it surprised me.

I still can’t believe the fee we got for Watkins so nothing would surprise me with Said. The DOFs will see us right.

We’ll get what the club thinks is fair. £50m for him and Ollie looks pretty decent. £23m plus add ons would mean we got £51-60m+ for the pair. In that scenario I don’t think I’d quibble much over Said going cheaply, particularly if he goes somewhere he can shine and earn us another £5m in sell ons.

I reckon it’s boiling down to Palace bidding for SB only if Zaha goes first.
Not if you can believe The Grauniad:

"Crystal Palace have agreed to sell the striker Alexander Sørloth to RB Leipzig and are hoping to use the proceeds to fund a move for Brentford’s Saïd Benrahma.

Palace are splitting the £20m they will receive for Sørloth equally with Trabzonspor....

.... That could accelerate Palace’s attempt to sign Benrahma, who is understood to be available for about £25m and has not featured for Brentford this season. Palace have held talks with his representatives in recent days but have so far been unwilling to match the Algeria forward’s valuation.

Palace’s attempts to sign Benrahma do not hinge on Wilfried Zaha leaving
...."

Palace innit. How many wingers/wide attackers can they fit in their squad? RH always says he wants more strikers. They’ve got previous for floundering through a season without any/one. Bonkers club.

Doubt Palace are under much pressure to bolster attacking options after today. Starting to think Benrahma might still be here after the window closes....especially if his dream is to play in the premiership!

Is it too late to substitute SB into the four-ball with MB, Rasmus and Ghoddos, at West Middx GC tomorrow, to try to persuade him to stay??

I am not sure we want to.

We love him but it is time to cash in and we have replacements.

Poor Noorgard must be thinking "FFS stop signing attackers and not selling Benrahma, it's hard enough as it is".

Given thomas frank's quote that "we have LOST two wheels of the bmw" must mean he will be going one way or another before the end of the window. Then again it was on the bbc so maybe it was bullshit :D

Can’t help but feel Said would probably be helping his chances of a move if he was fit and helping get himself in form by playing. A lot of clubs won’t want to wait a month to get him up to speed

Spurs are expected to wait a month for Bale to get match fit and he's costing a fortune

Obviously, if Benrahma wants to really go, he should be allowed if the price is fine. At the same time gaining promotion (and he would definitely help) raises the price value of all the players from gaining premier league exposure. Just Benrahma having a good year with us in EPL (hardly a guarantee of course) would be worth 40-50m+. Brentford have surplus cash from Ollie, Maupay, and certainly Raya if he goes; we're probably the only club in the division with strong financial standing to weather COVID period, so if there's ever a time to take advantage and hold onto a player instead of cashing in now is it.

We don’t need him keeping sergi, fosu and others out of the team with one eye on his certain move.

You just need to accept he is going and let it go.

BBC suggesting CPFC leading the chase for Brewster, they obviously has a few eggs in the basket. Leicester just signed a winger on loan, the “better” clubs slowly disappearing from view, could leave him still with the likes of WHU or worse FFC! Must be sad for Said that his talents don’t seem as coveted as he thinks.

I think WBA, Brighton, Fulscum, Leeds, WHU, Crystal Palace, basically half the premiership clubs would love him in their squads

Hear what you say however, the distinct lack of transfer news would either indicate this is not correct, or a lack of funds from the clubs you mention. He is more of a luxery player than Watkins imo, and for all his undoubted talent will be more of a gamble. Anyhow looks like CP are favorites to sign him once they free up some funds.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall for the next call between Said and his agent. "You said there were two big London clubs after me... and you give me West Ham and Palace?"

It does seem at the moment that there is not a lot of suitors but it could be that it is a waiting game with the hope of a lower fee perhaps? A lot of transfer activity takes place at the end of the window.

I'm sure hundreds of clubs, including Premier League clubs, would love him in their squads but that's not the point. I'd guess there are clubs in dialogue with our Directors of Football but they may not be clubs the British clickbait sites can be bothered to link with him.

It’s a waiting game and Brentford are the experts

He'd be a cracking signing for them, goes to show how good Liverpool are right now.......It makes me smile that some people still hold out hope that Said's staying. He's not staying, and he wont play for us again. It's a bit like grieving for some I feel

Don't want to hype up their fans for something that may not happen. They may also not want to paint a false narrative to other clubs that they can pay high fees like that (even if they can...)

Strange to go to the effort of contacting sky to take it down and tweet about it. Can understand more from a selling clubs perspective but not sure why they need to bother themselves with it
I presume SkyBot scraped it from somewhere and Parish got a barrage of calls.

Sky “sources” proving to be less than reliable. What a surprise. ....I gather there is a bit of bad blood going on between a prominent CPFC fan and the Sky transfer Team.

Yup that was really bad, Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth accused the Palace fan, @HLTCO, sort of a Banana equivalent in terms of how well he was know to the club, of undertones of racism in his tweets.

Totally unjustified and totally untrue and @HLTCO was understandably furious
