....i'll personally only be interested in his transfer speculation if he doesn't start tomorrow....surely TF has to throw him his jersey in the changing room...he's not a 'squad' footballer.

I am guessing all to do with our financial situation. We just brought Ghoddos, he will probably be on decent wages. We rejected £10m for Raya maybe on the basis we do sell Said. We will not have crowds this year at least. Yes some have froze their ST this year but many may not plus we lose the income from other aspects of holding a game. We are actively looking to buy one player. He may not come cheap. We got a great deal with Watkins but size of our club with no crowds and a new ground we need to think of the finances of the club. Plus his value is high now and will only go lower ...
If Said stays this window and plays to next January as he did from this January I don’t think his value will drop. 14 goals this half season and there’ll be many teams desperate to take a £25m+ punt in January. And we’ll be right up there and quite happy for him to commit to taking us up.

Palace mate told me earlier this week that they are in for both Brewster or Said.. Getting Batsyuai on loan and a buyback clause may prevent the Brewster purchase..

Your Palace mate doesnt know much considering Palace publicly shamed sky for a reported interest in Brewster. I don't think they would go to the extent of shaming sky and then signing him or having interest in him

Steve Parish called out SkyBot not because of the interest but because it reported an offer of a specific figure was made, if you read it.

If Said doesn't go, I think back to last season when there was all this speculation but he came back into the team and worked his nuts off so having a grumpy Said who isn't interested is something I don't think will happen. If he plays I still believe he will give it the maximum amount of effort

I think the point "elw1g08" makes remains though. Why would you go to these lengths to distance yourself from a player (or details around being linked) if you are then going to bid for the same player next week, it would make "calling out" Sky seem over their report like nitpicking if it was grounded in true interest.

Of course he would give of his best. He's being watched from on high.

Because I didn't like the red, it didn't work well with the site overall. Too much red on a screen is horrible, it's bad enough that we have to use a lot of it anyway. :(
So it was you who decided the seat colours ☝😏

As others have said, it’s not much of a race. They’ve both had months to finalise their move. Where are they ‘racing’? Round the world? Assuming it is just the 2 of them, Said would surely favour Palace for his ambitions. I wouldn’t be surprised if he stays until January now. BFC might even prefer it from a cash flow perspective.

I wonder, if he stays, if we might end up using him more as the attacking midfielder alongside CN and JDS, given the multiple options in the front 3? Not for every game but it would certainly give us a lot of creative options against the teams that park the bus from minute one.

Did very well when he came on, considering he hasn't played since the Play Off Final.

In the event that he is not sold by Thursday then fully expect Said to start against Fulham.

We risked him today:confused:
For a short spell. And in a higher stakes game. I wonder if it is a token gesture, as well, for the benefit of suitors. As if to say, oh well, he can just stay if nobody is willing to stump up his worth.

I would like to think we as a club are more professional than do token gestures. There has to my surprise been relative silence all transfer window on the Said front. I am convinced discussions has been had this week between the player and the club that time for Said to get some minutes under his belt.

No better way to attract some PL suitors than putting himself in the shop window. I get the feeling that Said is someone who would like to play in theses circumstances than do a "Tarky"

Agreed, but the last thing needed for all parties is the Judge scenario. Slightly surprised at his appearance today but, despite what IB says above, I still feel the cameo may have been a tactical play in the transfer market.

Given today's selection and appearance, methinks he isn't going anywhere nor can talks be near any conclusion. You don't risk 20 million.

Did v well when he came on. Certainly didn’t look like a player sulking because his move hasn’t come off yet.

We risked him after lock down what is the difference?
He wasn't available for sale, and he was doing a fairly important job in helping us search for the golden egg.

I’m not going to second guess this one. I’m assuming he is leaving and will enjoy his last games. If it turns out that he stays then fantastic. I don’t care as I know whatever happens will be best for the club.

Maybe I was expecting too much when he came on, but I was disappointed. I accept he only had 20 minutes or so.
He found space, linked up better then Canos had and only had 20mins. One fantastic ball into the box that was well defended.

He gets quite a bit of stick about his social media postings but I can't fault his commitment to the club. Today when he was warming up down the side line he was constantly encouraging the players on the pitch. He obviously wants to play in the Premier League but at the moment I guess the feedback is that currently no one will match our asking price. If someone matches it then he will be gone, if they don't he seems to be the character to get stuck in and try and prove himself further in order to either get us to the Premier League or get a move in another window.

Said is a contradictory character. On the one hand we have his social media posts and the very flashy persona that provides. On the other hand it’s clear both Peter Gilham and Thomas Frank love him as a person so he clearly passes the no d?@&head policy with flying colours.... so I don’t see him sulk or push for a move if a club doesn’t meet our valuation. He could be here for the season yet.

He'll still be here after transfer deadline.
Well if he is, that will make for some interesting selection choices if all forwards are fit! There would have to be some rotation, but can TF really afford not to play Benrahma if he's here for at least another 4 months?

I am now open to the possibility of him being here next month, but still think it's less than 50% and someone will make a bid. Whether it's a decent enough one is another matter.

a huge difference and not sure I need to explain.
I was being a little pedantic, however, my point is if the club has a valuable assets there is always a risk whenever they cross that white line. Judge is a classic example he was injured months before the end of the season, he lost a fortune in a future salary etc and should he have been in contract the club would have lost a large transfer fee. The only difference now is we are in a window the risk of injury is the same.

You could say that about every player, they all have a sale price that’s to good to turn down

A player could trip over a coffee table at home, so speculating about injuries is a bit pointless – Vid's shed is not going help with this one.

Saïd's minutes showed, despite him not have any match practice, what we are missing. He gave their defence something much more complex to worry about and he created for the team. I hope Ghoddos can make the same contribution when he's got up to speed with what he needs to do for the team and, if we have the pair of them, it could be an exciting prospect.

A chance of progressing to the finals stage of the L.C. is massive. Beating Fulham and our 3rd Premiership scalp in 3 games also massive psychologically. Hope Said plays the next game. He also needs competitive games to get back to his sharpness of before. COYB's.

Screw it. Give him a new contract. 😂
He’s a good player but why would you do this and upset the squad ? Do you not think that our improve has been built around a culture where players sign for Bees knowing that our coaching with improve them and the cup will renegotiate a new contract with them or sell them when it’s valuation meet. Giving a player an increased contract because another team wants to get someone on the cheaper would surely be a mistake.
