How would the bonus part of the deal work with a 1y loan and then buy. If he meets any of the bonus conditions in the loan period do they pay up immediately, when the sale happens or do the bonus conditions not apply to the loan period?

Have they though?

This is a lot of money/losing the best player weve had, with the bidders being a dubious bunch of crooks. I expect our dofs have never had an experience like this before all things considered
I'm sure that the DoF know how to say FO if necessary.

Don't these WHU guys have a track record for behaving like this? I would be very surprised if BFC would allow themselves to be compromised in sealing this deal

What happens if Said gets injured, assume the obligation bit remains. Its basically payment over a longer period because they don't have the money. This was their plan all along. Will they pull out if they cannot get obligation removed?

Miserable end to the transfer window, glad we can now move on from this.. although West Ham will probably start trying to find away around the remaining fee.

In the DoFs we trust. Can’t see the problem if it’s an obligation?

Will be announced soon. Obligation to buy is the same as a full transfer, given we would have got £5m in the first year anyway. I suspect the DOF's could do with a large glass of drink after today but it sounds like it's gone about as well as it could have. Bye bye, Said...

If the 'injury clause' is in there, who decides the severity of the injury, one assumes the buyer?

Lets hope it works out as it should but WHU are not in anyway trustworthy so I expect us to still be discussing on here whether we'll see penny one of the transfer fee in less than 12 months time.

I see some are reporting "unless the issue with the medical is serious"
If this is the case, I hope the deal is completed and we get the money as soon as it’s proved the issue isn’t serious. I don’t see why we would wait until next summer?

The same DOF that turfed ghoddos and his agents out the door last year.

There is a big difference between being turned over by something sneaky in the small print and caving in when WHU spivs say “naa, we don’t want to buy him, I tel you want, just give him to us”

“oh, ok then” say Brentford.

the launderettes will be busy over the weekend.

Will have to be done in a transfer window no doubt. So 10 weeks to go....

Heard it's done (from the other end)

£5m Loan Fee with obligation to buy
£20m thereafter
£5m in add-ons that we will probably never see.
Probably best not mention getting done from the other end in this transfer ( one for you bigbee )
Good luck Said. It's been a pleasure.

Very poor. Next time my wife goes to Tesco's I will tell her to go for a £20 loan fee on the weekly shop.
Because the mechanics of shopping in Tesco are exactly the same as negotiating a multimillion pound football transfer.

You are lucky to be consistently humoured on every transfer thread you post on.

put it on a credit card, pretty much the same thing.

What difference does it make to us, 5m now, then 20m in instalments afterwards.

Exactly the same if they bought him.

Sometime a you have to be cute how you build the deal to make it work and get the same result.

Would love to know more about this issue and what is deemed as 'serious'. It didn't stop him making Hector look stupid nor stop him playing for his country. Anyway good luck Said. Make a bigger name for yourself.

Do you think/know if we have sell ons with these bigger fees for Benrahma and Watkins?

Feel a bit sorry for Benrahma. Was being linked with Arsenal and Chelsea, and ended up at West Ham. Bit like going on holiday and finding your hotel that looked great in the brochure is actually in the middle of a building site, and if you squint between the high-rises you may be able to glimpse the sea.

Mind you, sure the money will make up for it a bit.

The are the same amount, both £5m in total. However I suspect the West Ham ones will be only paid if they win the Champions League 5 times in a row and Said scores the winning goal from the halfway line.

Not sure what all the angst is about. 5 million now is all we would have got regardless of the deal and who knows we might have the little wizard back next year.

Suspect swr22 means a percentage of future transfer fees?

If not, I would be interested to know :D

If he does a Ryan Woods I cant see them.paying £20 million. I am very surprised at this.
They have to. It's the deal. He could play 30 seconds all season and they'd still have to pay us the money at the end of it.

I would imagine our negotiating team are now relaxing after what must have proved a most arduous transfer Negotiation

I would imagine that the final deal, whilst not exactly what we wanted, is not far off £5m now, then the obligation to buy which triggers the next £21m in whatever stages have been agreed. As gi your the other £5m in add ons they were “ nice to have” but not deal breakers.

Dealing with those cowboys in East London is never straight forward However our negotiating team have shown that they are as sharp as anyone when it comes to a deal and really nobody should doubt that all the i’s and t’s have been dotted in a watertight contract

Let the Spivs think they have won the day however at the end of the day they are committed to a spend of £25m plus for a player that has never played in the top division!!! As for us we can again show that if a player signs for us and performs for us then we can offer a highly successful future
