One of the best players it has been my privilege to watch in a Brentford shirt.

I wish him all the best, but not West ham.

I once shouted some encouraging words, that I would consider coaching.
Can I have a slice of the staff bung?
Instead of being shared amongst 100 it would now be 101. I'm not sure it's life-changing amounts!

the way things are me, and I imagine, many others at the moment I’d be made up with a tenner.
At least I can retrain. Cheers Rishi.

Spurs are likely to give Bale a run out so I hope Said does start - could be quite a game.

As an aside I nearly backed west ham to get relegated at 5/1 at the start of the season - glad I never put it on now!

...i'm wondering whether he's purchased a bubble machine for his back garden.....and has spent this weekend practicing walking through bubbles to make sure he's au fait with the Olympic Stadium entry.

As Brentford fans, this is a well trodden path.

How many players have departed over the last 4-5 years that have generated comments like:
‘Best ever player to pull on the BFC shirt’
‘How are we going to replace the goals’
‘We don’t have cover in x position’

Players that might have applied to:
  • Hogan
  • Gray
  • Jota
  • Maupay
  • Watkins
  • Benrahma
It was a pleasure to watch Said play for the Bees. He joins the elite with 3 hat tricks and notable mentions for his destruction of Fulham and Bristol City New Years Day.

I have a feeling that he’ll end up regretting going to West Ham. His bank balance will be healthy but the owners are despicable, there is no football philosophy, Moyes is a bang average manager and any club where the players are publicly slagging off the owners for selling players isn’t worth touching.

Great business for the Bees. We’ve replaced Watkins with Toney. Now to hope we’ve replaced Said with Ghoddos.

Et s'il ne le partage pas avec toi, est-ce que tu vas lui dire va te faire foutre, la prochaine fois qu'il arrive chez nous?
The only time I posted in a foreign language, it got deleted! Clearly no one wants to upset you now! 😂

Glad it is over and hope he does well, as I do with most of our departed players unless they are up against us or they go to Fulham or that other lot!

Could be used as a centre-back as he's probably better than what WHU have got now watching the Spurs game.

Spammers on the end of a double figures spanking today? 3-0 to Spuds after 16 minutes. I hope that he does really well for them, we trouser all of the money that we are due and that Wet Spam get relegated.

Can we have him back when we go up and they go down ?
Bit old fashioned me. The players job was to get Brentford into the Premier League. They failed. And rather than stick around to finish the job properly, one or two have fast tracked it. So nah. Hope they (and him) go down with Villa and Fulham. In fact reduce the Premier by two teams and we'll have West Brom and Leeds back down as well. Then I don't want him fast tracking his way back up with us. His job will be to help get West Ham back up and he should bloody well stick around to do it. Hate modern football, its ethics, the zero loyalty and how greed rules it. Not even sure why I still follow it really. I think I'm going to have a little lie down actually.

I'll give you Fulham but I'd guess that both Ollie's and Saïd's sale contracts have an add-on based on retaining their Premier League status.

That's what makes modern football so hard to take. You can't even hate clubs properly anymore. Imagine if he'd gone to Fulham and we were forced to hope they stay up! 🤮

They (WH) should have spent the money on a defender (which I think was Moyes priority), they seem to have loads of options in
SB's position.

My thought is along the lines that the dildo brothers will be looking to sell their shares in WHU in the near future, and the new owner will claim the debt to BFC is owed by them, not WHU. I just don't trust them. Not an inch.

Most transfers are paid in installments...

It sounded from Phil G’s interview that the payment profile is the same as it would have been had Said been sold outright.

exactly...I’m not sure why people are losing their minds over this and looking for things that aren’t there

You don't trust their hypothetical new owners, when you don't have any idea who they will be? I think that's taking cynicism a bit far, even for West Ham.

I dont trust the current owners to be transparent in any business dealings which could create a future issue.

One reason in my case is that although we've been smart in transfer dealings over the last few years, Turner and Hull still hang heavy on my mind.

Agree. I have completed faith in our DOF's, but just because you have a deal all stitched up with a legally enforceable bow on the top, it doesn't mean someone won't try it on.

There is an agreement/obligation (same thing in law) for them to buy him.
If for any reason the medical issue becomes a problem and breaks that deal, we get Said back I’d imagine.
Also as Phil said, the second lot of tests are pretty imminent so this will be cleared up shortly.
wasn’t the Turner issue that when he was sold on we lost our sell on because he was sold on for cash and a player or is my memory making that up? That’s completely different to what we are facing now.

But having a deal all stitched up with a legally enforceable bow on top means that even if they do try it on they won’t get anywhere...

But we only lost out on a sell on fee with Turner because there was no profit. In this case we will already have the 25M in our pocket and any sell on fee is a bonus.

Not comparable at all.

PG interview says WHU behaved well during this transfer, if they break the law in completing payments there are consequences, the same as there are for Villa and Brighton.

I don't get all this panic and fear, do you really think we would just walk away from 25M because WHU decide not to pay?
