Think he's a bit more direct and aggressive.. Any of you who enjoy a good 'SHOOOOOT!!!' when players are on the edge of the box are gonna love this guy!!

The music to that video sends an interesting message...

Just looks to be a run at them and shoot sort of player. Is that really what we need?
If you look at Benrahma's shot map that's basically what he is. Sooooooo many "wasted" shots on a low xG

We could have done with him at stoke where we created fa. Lots of teams are learning how to play us now, imo he is exactly what we need if he is up and at them.

If you've got someone who can bang them in from distance it gives opposing defences a problem, do we sit back and pack the box or do we go out and press.... We need as many options as poss!

At 27 years old he probably has no resale value so he’s got to be starting every game.

It all depends on fitness and whether he has already plateaued in his development whether a 27 year old has resale value. If he joined us and played like Said I think next summer there’d be plenty willing to pay £10m+ and give us a healthy profit but we might decide that his value to us was higher.

Are those two statement entirely compatible? He's certainly not coming for development but BFC may develop him, so he's not a write-off but I can't see how that means he's got to start every game. As has been posted many times, this season is very condensed, with a lot of midweek games, given the demands on our players, we're going to need rotation.

It strikes me that many Premier League Clubs are willing to pay Millions for 30 year old players of quality so why not Ghoddas, that is if should he sign for us? So yes, £10 million, but not necessary next season, and yes who knows we may well decide to keep him, although that will be an apparent change of policy.

The economics change if we go up because our need to generate money through player sales is balanced by the need to retain an immediately competitive squad and the additional TV money. But we’ve always taken a different approach with more experienced players- Bjelland was allowed to go for free, Henrik might also if we don’t offer an extension, I suspect we would rather keep Pontus to the end of his deal (and extend) than to sell him on. The huge profits we make on developing young players also allows us not to have to extract profits from ready made senior players whose value is on the pitch through their full term. But if any want to Move early we’ll get a fair fee for them.

I agree with the last couple sentences.
If we have younger players who will develop and earn multi millions, we technically could afford some older experienced players to counter balance that and sell for peanuts or release end of contract. Those experience players also help the younger ones develop further.

Would definitely help, as good as Canos is I think we need an additional quality player in there.

Even with last years messing about something really makes me want this to happen, not entirely sure why though.... looks like his may add some of the flair we are likely to lose.

No disagreement in respect of Dalsgaard and perhaps Jansen as for Bjelland we will never really know because of his injury. Yes, should we be promoted the economics will change, however, I would think that we would remain a selling club, but obviously the actual policy will change. Remain in the Championship I cannot imagine any massive change.

Not sure that does him justice. Looks a really clever player to me, different to Said but also different to the other attacking options we currently have. If Arsene Wenger really likes him, then that says something

He looks to me like Said light, with added downthemiddleness and headerability. I'd love to see us take a chance on him.

Did this just change to a ‘strong’ rumour? If so why, because he was left out or something I have missed that directly links him with us?

Should be hitting his prime and is still a relatively unknown so works in our favour. A year or two with us and he’s either taken us up or moving on again with us profiting and surviving longer from it

He looks very talented and having a true CAM gives us a different dimension against high pressing teams. Da Silva and Baptiste have this too but with more of a preference to be one side or the other. If Ghoddos comes and is what we’d hope it allows us to pin down the CAM and CDM positions and to choose whether to add a third midfielder to attack, defend or go box to box depending on situation and opposition. It also helps to push Toney further up the pitch because he’ll not feel the need to drop deep to pick the ball up so much.
