Thoroughly enjoyed watching the 2 rewinds of that season. Some of the goals and build ups to them were quite tasty. The team was obviously showing a great togetherness, much like the current squad. And what about the short shorts!

I had forgotten that that was the season we had a 3 sided ground for most of it. Also, forgot (it's an age thing!) that away fans weren't always in that cage at the ER end of NR. Smaller away attendances must have been in BR, but can't honestly remember.

I was a STH for Wendy lower and remember watching THAT Fulscum game from either ER or possibly that end of The Paddock. Must have also been moved for the Brum and Stoke games as their fans were in the Wendy House (when it was allowed to take 2200 fans!). Can't remember where, though. May even be I was not at those games for whatever reason, but unlikely.

Also noticeable that some away grounds on those videos don't now exist, or have been transformed over the years with seating rather than standing (rather like GP). Have to remember, though we are talking 28 years ago!

Memories! Will be like that when we've been at LR for a few years. Life goes on, but often in a different way... .

Two things stick in the mind from that season for me. The reverend Ricky Otto tearing us a new one, but still ending up on the losing side.
The glorious own goal by Nicky Spooner.

The Hull own goal was just as good. Full volley!

The Marcus Gayle "40 yarder" v Hull at home which was disallowed as it was in an indirect free kick

Looking forward to watching the rewinds of this later.

I think that despite what’s happened since, what we’ve got now, and what might happen in the future, 91/92 will always be THE season for me.
Probably a combination of how old I was then, the number of games I got to, the way we won it - the Derby Day Demolition of Fulham, the fantastic last 6 game run, Saint and Greavesie, grabbing the title from under the noses of the BrumScum, the celebrations at Peterborough and then on the pitch late into the night at GP!!!!
But maybe more importantly, the fact that I started watching us regularly in 1978 following the previous season’s promotion, and bar a couple of exciting cup games/runs and a failed play off attempt, it at been pretty much 14 years of turgid Division 3 football, in front of dwindling crowds, for the whole of my Brentford supporting life...... up until this season.
Thanks Bliss, Deano, Benno, Smillie, Marcus, Detzi, Batesy, Milly, Big Tel, Jonah, Ratters, and all, it was great!!!!

P.S. Can’t belive there were only 7,500 at Craven Cottage for our game there that year!!!

P.P.S. Had forgotten we used 3 keepers that season...

From what I can see, it looks like Ealing Road was reopened for the Fulham game - but it was only half full. Can anyone remember what went on there? Was it just used as an area for overspill from the rest of the ground?

Best part of 50% must have been Bees fans.

We went top by winning there.

There was no crush barriers from what I can remember, so the capacity was restricted.

The Hull game was just after the 92 election. One of the guys in fancy dress went as John Major. I remember the “only one John Major” chant

Wasn't that Clarkey?

Didn't go down too well with the locals.

John Prescott territory.

I’m watching it at the moment,...where did all the away fans go ? As the game v Torquay and Chester there seems to be none in the cage ! Also amazing to have only had one penalty at home all season

Also curious how we seems to show some highlights in chronological order and some randomly before the home game when the away game was months before !

All the cup games were shown in a "dedicated" section of the highlights.....

Great memories. I was a season ticket holder back then, stood on the New Road. It took me a while to get over that opening day game v Orient. Ricky Otto frightened the life out of us. Three assists and poor Ratcliffe on toast all game. One of the most dynamic performances I have seen from an opposition player at GP. Thought they would score every time he got it. We were lucky to win it on the day but we did because Dean Holdsworth (dubbed the Invisible Man by a fanzine the season before) suddenly sprung to life and could not stop scoring all season. Those last 6 games that season were extraordinary. Everything came together when it mattered.
