My first post !!

This might be useful...

Had all sorts of issues, logging in to I follow etc but eventually watched the Fulham match ok. Issues today with I follow saying I had an Ad Blocker. By trial and error this is what I did:
Removed Ad Blocker and VPN - disabling didnt work. Then disabled my Kaspersky Internet Security - that has worked. I am no techy expert.

Good luck

Just a bit out of the loop mate. I used to have Beesplayer for the commentaries but then found I could never listen because I was always working when the matches were on. No idea what iPlayer is/does. I seem to recall it replaced Beesplayer a a few years back but thought it was just commentaries? If I can sign up and watch the games that would be a bonus at the moment. I must investigate. ;) I'm a bit put off by the amount of reliability issues I keep reading about though. :(

Reading (A) will only be available on iFollow. (and only to STHers with the package installed....)
Will the iFollow codes which are going to be provided in lieu of refunds for single home match ticket purchases, only be for home games then?

Oh Christ now I'm getting me iPlayers mixed up with me iFollows. How old am I exactly?

Right. iFollow. Has pictures, yes? Not just commentary. Can actually watch the game without having an STD or whatever someone said earlier? Just pay a subscription and watch the games, no technical issues, everything will be fine, yes? Comfort me here. Or at least humour me somebody. :sorted:

Welcome to the GPG. A useful first post, so thanks!

Yes, no need for a VPN and iFollow monitoring their use and will block you if you use one, so best to not use one!

Re Ad Blockers, we've had various reports. Some will be fine if just switched-off, some need to be uninstalled. I use Chrome and AdBlock, and have no issues at all.

You can pay for commentary ONLY on a match-by-match basis

Video is ONLY available to those with the STHer deal/package and is NOT available on a match-by-match basis.

It says on the website, 'video match pass £10'. But when you click on it the only option is £2.50 commentary. So in summary, no way I can watch the game. Nothing I can sign up to for the rest of the season, or next season, correct?

No idea re next season.

This season the rules change after the break. I don't believe you can get video unless you are a STHer.

Yes as it is an away match we have no control to offer video.

The Season Ticket deal for video only works as it is agreed at EFL level.

Hmm weren't they offering single match passes for people that bought home tickets as a donation option? Although presumably you would need a promo code to access and watch - bit silly really that you can't just pay £10 for a one-off video pass when the games are not on Sky and behind closed doors.

On the BIAS website it states - that season ticket holders that have opted to get a refund can buy a game by game pass, is this not the case?

There will be cameras at every game and with clubs not having taken any gate money since March, it makes no sense to as to why anybody shouldn't be allowed to pay to view. It can't be the old argument of it affecting the gate, so why not let us watch it and earn a few bob?

Presumably now we're "serious contenders/one of the big boys" we may well have more of our games shown on Sky??
@Judio1999 any idea when next set of televised fixtures are announced??

Don't you have to buy a £10 pass via Reading? As in from them not from Brentford.

Am heavily considering it now, while I wasn't originally going to.

If you did that you'd get Reading commentary.

For the (midweek) away matches earlier in the season I bought from Brentford iFollow.

Just received email with 5 iFollow codes in lieu of refund for extra match tickets purchased....

"We are unable to provide you with complimentary iFollow passes for games which are broadcast on Sky Sports. However, there will be at least three games (including Reading v Brentford on 30 June, Brentford v Wigan Athletic 4 July and Brentford v Charlton Athletic on 7 July) exclusively available on iFollow. More games may become available."

Are the codes assigned to specific matches or is it effectively a £10 voucher?

I have a ticket for the WBA game as I was coming over for the original fixture. To be honest I was initially hanging on to it in the hope that I could come when the game was eventually played, but then forgot all about. It didn't even cross my mind to ask for a refund. Would this not be usable for some sort of iFollow pass, or is that just season ticket holders?

Anyone who purchased individual match tickets should have got an email a few weeks ago giving the options:
Full refund
Credit to ticket account
'Donate to club' and get an iFollow code in return.
There was a cut off point you needed to respond by (21st June)

"If you don't action any of the options above before Sunday 21 June, we will credit your ticketing account by the end of July."

Not assigned to specific games.
Just a list of 5 separate codes.
What I'm not sure about though, is whether the codes are linked to an individual iFollow account? Or can they be 'gifted' to another account holder if not required?
Any thoughts?

Yeah. A mate bought the tickets hence he got the email. Just spoken to him. He had our WBA ones and various others which unbeknown to me were all refunded two weeks ago.

Ah, OK, so you can use the refund to buy iFollow passes for the games you want to watch.

No they are not assigned to an account so they can be gifted.

 Thank you.
In that case, is now the time to start a thread for those with 'spare' codes (i.e. ST holders who purchased additional tickets, but didn't opt for a refund or ticket account credit) to make them available to others who might need/want them?

Yep. The issue last night was that the Reading game was audio only, there was no £10.00 video option. But that has appeared today so looks like I'm good to go? :sorted:

Not sure if this has been covered, but presumably the club(s) are funding payment for iFollow coverage from ST refunds not claimed??
Surely iFollow must be getting something out of the additional viewers??

"Why?", as in "Why am I asking the question?" or "Why must iFollow be getting something out of the arrangement?"

Either way, I'm just genuinely interested in how the arrangement between the EFL/Clubs and iFollow has been funded as I can't believe iFollow would have "given away" thousands of video match passes. The logic (for me) would suggest money not refunded to ST holders (possibly at a reduced rate?) has been used to pay iFollow, with them hoping to retain a large percentage of the additional viewers for future seasons.

Given that until these BCD games came along you couldn't watch iFollow in the UK, I'm not sure what they would be retaining these viewers for, exactly?

Prior to the shutdown, midweek EFL games were being shown live by iFollow in the UK.
I assume they'll hope that people who are using the service at the moment 'for free', will be impressed enough to sign up again when the situation returns to normal. i.e They will then have to pay for the coverage.

It may be my intolerance of advertising but it seems to me that there was more than previously around the 2 matches I've watched. Given the larger audience for the games, there must have been a revenue opportunity exploited by EFL Digital to the benefit of the clubs, directly or indirectly.

Is it still possible that other games will be covered by Sky or is that it for us now (apart from playoffs if we're in them)? Their schedule only seems to go up to 13th July from what I can see?

Yes, other games can still be scheduled on Sky. Preston is one that is 99% certain to happen.

Banana, I have logged on to IFollow using Chrome. I can see archived videos including the WBA game. But when I go to next match it seems to offer only text updating not video and displays 'Buy a video match pass'. I know you have probably heard this before but can you please suggest actions I can take to rectify. I am a season ticket holder and obtained a code from the club

My account is not showing any current subscription as per the Banana YouTube video. How do I rectify that please? I do have an account as I can see my account and can access archived videos
