He ran around like s blue ar**ed fly!
Big,strong lad for his age, the PNE fullback didn't know what to do when he came on & he certainly got the crowd going!

Reminds me of Grealish when he played against us for Notts County. Let's hope he turns out to be as good.

The kid can play but what I liked also was his character, he's got a bit of devil in him. Anyone notice when he came on he got clattered by a Preston player. Got straight up and a minute later went and left one on the same Preston player and got booked. Worth it in my eyes, was telling the player that he won't be bullied. Just seen Dijkhuizen saying he's more of an impact player from the bench, he may be right but would love to see him start soon.

Gotta love skilful players with a bit of that street fighting mentality that Luis Suarez is so famous/infamous for! :)
Excellent to hear that Sergi did so well today, looking forward to seeing video of it.
Can see why you'd want him as a super sub but he's also the type of player who can bang a worldie in after some quiet minutes, so.. Good mix of graft, quality and x factor to keep defenders on their toes.

His first touch was a flick and pass and move that he got back and crossed for Vibe to score less than a minute after coming on.
His second touch was an outrageous flick that left two defenders looking silly and he then got clattered as a reminder. He exacted his revenge by body checking the clatterer and got a booking for his trouble. He played with a smile on his face and was winding up senior experienced players on his debut. He endeared himself to Bees fans within 5 minutes and reckon he's going to be really good impact sub as has star quality.

Enthusiasm and unpredictability - too fine attributes when you're chasing a game.

Best Brentford home debut ever? He was unbelievable. Great touch, strong and seemed really mature when Preston tried to have a little kick. I'm really impressed

I would have to say not, Andy Woon hatrick in first game, but never lived up to it afterwards.

Made a difference today and didn't hide after getting a bit of a hit. Could be a big favourite. Seemed to enjoy winding up some of the PNE players too.

Good stuff, thanks! Going from his twitter he seems to be relishing playing pro football in front of good crowds, couldn't be happier for him!
I see you've got two home games coming up, good chance for you guys to get some more points on board and Sergi to get some minutes.

He likes getting stuck in too and is not as lightweight as I thought he would be. I think he is going to be very useful for us.

He was brilliant and allowed Vibe to move into a more central position. If we can keep him for the season, I will be very happy.

I said that to someone earlier today. He was a bundle of energy, will really pi55 of the opposition with his antics. Has bundles of talent but what impressed me the most is the way he wrapped up and calmed down last 15 after vibe told him to be careful. He went a bit quiet but played the game avoiding any ref aggro and played sensibly.

I think we are gonna love him.

Let's not go overboard, he was a great impact sub but he's a young kid whose just played his first half hour of senior football. He's not Pritchard or Folan.......yet

How many pints of Guiness can he drink?

Very impressive half hour and will be interesting to see how he's used. I can see how he is portrayed as an impact sub after yesterday but we've been chasing the game for every home game this season.
Be nice to have a headstart and see how we do
I'd start him next week as Wednesday will be a difficult match, they've spent money and look a lot stronger this season.

He is better than Grealoish and I hope we can keep him. Let's be honest, our defence was awful yesterday. He was the catalyst and made the two goals. He looks the real deal- great signing.

I thought our defence was excellent yesterday, perhaps I'm watching through rose tinted specs? Think this lad could turn out to be a big star one day

How can you say he's better than Grealish on half-an-hour?
Aside from the opening 10 minutes, the defence were fine.

The defence was not awful... the defending in midfield was, though.

Can Os can be translated as "you can" in Spanish

Sergi's mum and dad run a restaurant in Liverpool, specialising in Carne Con Tomate and Patatas Bravas

My view was he was excellent when he came on and would reiterate my view pre-match that he should be starting matches for us at the moment with no Jota.
We need people who stretch teams and pull them apart with pace to make space for others and he did exactly that with some nice skill too. Much closer to a finished product than Clarke was playing up there.

what about pace, Enthusiasm unpredictability and pace, three fine attributes when you're chasing the game

With due deference to Monty Python

What about pace, enthusiasm, unpredictability and a willingness for a bit of a scrap ... three fine attributes ...

just an FYI for Emre this still works in case you want to see highlights/interviews etc

Oh *****, now that I've already signed up for 2 of them as well, lol :D
Thanks for the info!
Just saw the highlights now, some good bits there from young Sergi.
Could easily have got a 2nd assist when two of your players somewhat got in the way of each other (I thought) on a low pass to around the penalty spot.
And that bit near the end when he muscled in front of a defender to get racing and drew a yellow card, strong clever play.

just saw these quotes on the Liverpool Echo site:

“It was amazing to play in this stadium with this crowd and atmosphere. I'm proud to have made my home debut,” he told Get West London.

“I try to give everything every minute and I hope I'm better in each match with the team winning.

“It was just what the team needed and I'm very happy. I'm really happy with how the team treat me. I'm really happy with what is coming.”

Onwards and upwards, hopefully :)

Muy Bien Sergi

He certainly looked happy when we scored and at the final whistle, great to see

He is a potential cult hero. Absolutely crackers, played with a big smile on his face and seemed to have already endeared himself to his teammates. Loved that a few Preston players tried to rile him and he ended up winding them up even more lol

That little Aussie **** Kilkenny was spitting feathers when Sergi was winding him up by slowly edging back with a big smile on his face while the free kick was about to be taken.

Got the impression it won't be dull when he's around and he'll delight and frustrate but always entertain, love it!

I remember this one youth-match sometime back in March or was it April.. Dunno. Anyways, Sergi has been moved around a bit as a young lad filling in wherever needed and not having cemented a first team spot... On this day I think he was with the U18s and he had a bit of a rough one. Got himself in to some Diego Costa-like spats and lashed out a couple of times with one or two late kicks.
There's a bit of the snide in him, but I love that passion in a player when he's got the talent to match his volatile behaviour. Nutters are fun.
As you say, he's bound to frustrate you at times as well, but hopefully it'll be more of the good stuff than the bad stuff!
