quality on the ball, a player who makes things happen and unlocks defences - the more he plays the better he'll get!

Would like to see him drop deeper as well as in the pocket he finds himself in most of the time to pick the ball up like JDS does. Our defense lacks an out ball into the middle.

Fans need to remember that he was signed from League 1 and never really had any game time in the Championship. Then had a series of major Injuries.
It's beyond belief how many players in this team have followed this path.
I'd love to see him get a run of 10 games in because there no way he is 100% match fit yet.

Oddly enough, I said to my son at half time "Onyeka's hardly been involved"... he said, that's because it's Baptiste playing! He did seem to flit in and out of the game in the way Frank does but came to life in the last phase of all-out attack. I'd have hooked him but I guess that's why I'm not the manager.

Brought quality , goal threat and drive to the mid. It will take him a bit of time to get fully match fit but IMO starts every time.

Stared brightly but seemed to drop of after they scored and did not get back to the same level of intensity. I think he has a lot to offer but in the position he plays he needs to have more impact on the whole game like JDS did/ can do.

Started well and then disappeared a bit, was surprised it wasn't him hooked when Jensen went off but guess it's all about fitness. Came to life a bit more towards the end. Not afraid to get in the box and shoot which is a major plus from midfield! Does look very comfortable receiving the ball in tight spaces which is something we really need in there too. All a big learning curve for him as he's hardly played at any level really. Looks like there's loads more to come from him though....

Awful journalism. Not a clue where Shandon is coming from. And he hasn't played that much either due to injury.
May be they mean 'will improved'. For sure he will, as long as he is not broken in the meantime

If it was an informed opinion, there's two other midfielders you'd mark as needing improvement before Baptiste.

Need to get him involved more and further up the pitch.. Want him making those runs into the oppo penalty area, not out of our own!! Couple of great individual moments but otherwise didn't really get on the ball enough..
Unbelievable dribbling, agree we want him further forward if possible, could be some player.

My only criticism is he took 30 minutes before he got involved but once he did he looked class

Some lovely touches. Loves the way he glides about the pitch. Loads more to come from him if we can keep him fit.
Thought their CB Challobah was the MOM though. Flawless and must be very close to an Englans call up

I don't know if it would work, but I'd love to see us try a lineup that includes Shandon and JDS, playing just behind the front 2.
Rico was clearly MOTM but he was certainly amongst our best players on the night

The odd 10 mins in a game is just not good enough I’m afraid. Has great potential but really shouldn’t be starting at the moment. We really need to improve our midfield options this window.

He's certainly not the player needed when the team needs to get their heads up, focus on getting some control and graft to get it.

What I find amazing on many of the players threads are posters saying the player in question is no longer good enough but last week he was brilliant (just look on this thread). Maybe it didn't work for him last night but its one game. Also what I would say is that last night it was about the failure of the team not individuals. Only 1 or 2 came out with any credit. Last night was not a game to judge individual players on imo, we were bad all over the pitch.

Whether Shandon had a good game or not, what I liked about last night was that he was one of the players who tried to play himself out of a tight spot - ie he backed himself, as Ajer always does.

We looked absolutely sh*te when replaced by Wissa last night. We always look better with him in the middle.

Agree with those who saw the positives in his play. At his best when he is breaking forward with the ball & like his confidence in being progressive. He will only improve with game time and as long as we can keep him fit I do expect great things from the lad.
