Nothing against weds but it makes me chuckle when these massive clubs with massive support etc completely mess up the running of the club...they'll prob get new owners in and do the same old thing

For me just sums up much that is wrong with football. There is a lack of regulation around this allowing situations like this to develop. This is what happens when there is a lack of leadership from the top. We have seen it before and we will see it again. Why do the authorities do nothing to rectify going forward?

I remember a couple of season ago at GP they were giving it the big “we’re on our way back” song before and during, well, that was a bit of a wrong prediction 😀😀

So who’s not getting paid? Apart from the players.
This makes me think of the Bolton case, well cases, where the slate was wiped clean but so many local business lost out on being paid what they’re owed, even if it was a few hundred quid or a few k that’s a lot to small businesses, and sours the clubs reputation locally.
How many clubs genuinely care about the local community or business

That's the problem though - Chanserei's lot seem to have run the club so far into the ground (and down the league) that there's no likelihood of their ever getting their money back from any prospective buyer. Nor do they seem to have any more money of their own that they can/will pump into the club.

Meaning that unless a genuine Wednesday fan with proper money comes along to rescue the club, they'll either have to pull out and sell off whatever they can to cut their losses, or sell the club for whatever they can get from the next vulture who fancies he can make a quick turn on his money by asset-stripping the club.

Have they got any assets left to strip?
Add to that a relatively worthless squad of players

Very little, I should think - maybe a Training Ground or some property around Hillsborough? And possibly the stadium itself, since the owner probably "resold" it to himself via some dodgy shell company.

Of course everything will probably be mortgaged to the gills, so not much extra value left anywhere, bar a Football League Membership.

That said, it was the same for eg Bury or Macclesfield, and they had no shortage of vultures taking turns to feast on their remains until there was nothing left.

To be fair to them, Man City have a done massive amount of good regenerating and building links with the surrounding area

Yeah. And fair play.

But, when your as rich as their owners where money really is limitless, it’s easy to spend that money when you have a different aim or want.

So caught up in the clubs history and community that they were going to join the esl

Some deserve to go pop -mk dons, Ra .

Although, apart from that, I mostly agree with not wanting to see any club go bust, the way Wednesday have carried on for so long I don’t feel much sympathy for them. It is outrageous how they gone on, and for the most part, the fans didn’t complain as they felt it would take them further

Interesting generalisation - I've heard loads of complaints from my Wednesday mates over the years... think they're just a bit downtrodden by this point. 25 years since they've really had it good.

They’ve been complaining for years cos they keep failing. Every time though, with a bit dodgy business , they’re all happy again without a care or question because they’re thinking they’re going to make the big time again.

Same with so many clubs “ spend, spend, spend, it doesn’t matter we are a big club” etc

Just what any fan would do though. I've seen plenty of care and question, but maybe you have deeper knowledge on this.

Their owner is a number one prized D**k but I actually really like there fanbase. Always had good relations/banter with them when I've gone up there and or they've come here. They are a good bunch. Proper football fans.

I remember a good few hung back after the final whistle of the 5 0 last season to applaud our players off. Respect for that

No deeper knowledge here. Just observation every time they want dodgy dealings to get them to the promised land.

We've have dodgy owners.....didnt take long for our fans to be vocal when it was realised noades was dodgy as f*** with us. Didnt just say hes loaded and cheer him on.....although there were a few plums who still supported noades, a larger more vocal number of us opposed him. And it wasnt because we were struggling in the league cos we werent, it was for him being a dodgy ****

No one feasted off Macclesfield, they had the same owners for many years who ran out of money but were too proud to sell up.
Bury had some nutter (northern version of Spencer Trethewy at Aldershot) who completely overspent, then got taken over by an asset stripper who found there were no assets left to strip!
