Rumour has it that The Bill Axbey Stand will house the away fans next season.
I think this is a good idea, especially if The Wendy House becomes the new family stand.
Will mean larger gates and more revenue.
I'm happy to move back to The Braemar Road side if this happens.

Wouldnt you like to know
Given the money invested so far surely the next two seasons should be about building the support base and that means aways get 1600 and no more in the Wendy House.

We were discussing this Friday, if we move back over to Braemar, are there likely to be any seats in the Paddock available and if not where's there likely to be a bit of atmosphere and not too far up in the Gods?

Ridiculous idea. It's all about working towards attracting 15000 home fans to Lionel Road and we won't do that by restricting the numbers of home fans during the last two key seasons at Griffin Park.

We got promoted on Friday, we didn't sell the home areas out.
We haven't sold out for the Stevo game either.
Give up the New Road and every other game will be a sell out.
That makes good business sense IMO.

Can't see it myself. As others say, it's all about growing the home support.

New Road can also be segretated as there are bogs either side of the entrance.
On certain games where the away supprt won't use the whole stand, the current Community / Family
area could be use for home fans, entering from Ealing Road. Makes perfect sense to me.

Yes thought about that half and half but the exits and entrances arent up to it last time it was an average over 8000
with relegation have faith.Besides dont give the away team an advantage

Look at the lift our players got at Orient with our massed support on one side of the ground. Terrible idea.

Wan*iest idea ever. fek the away fans. We need to consolidate and make sure we are in the championship when we move into the new stadium and giving the aways the new road at Griffin Park will give them an advantage. Its our ground and the home fans come first. (Plus I Like sitting near the dug outs!!!!!!)

I'm not too bothered either way really.
I'm thinking about moving over to Braemar anyway, I've done my time in New Rd.
I still reckon the club will make a change for next season as there are are too many clubs
with large travelling support.

Maybe extend away capacity into Hate Corner with a bit of sensible segregation, nobody sits there anyway, they must be the dustiest seats in the ground.

Why not give Braemar Road to them instead? :fishing:

Yes - excellent idea. :sorted:

The support from the New Road stand is far better than the Braemar.
Louder, more of us, - and no numpties provoking unnecessary altercations with oppo players. :fishing:

Seriously though - absolutely ridiculous idea to give up either of our main stands to the opposition for a season where our home support has to be significantly higher than anything seen over the last few years.

I have been standing/sitting in the New Road stand since 1970. You'll have to surgically remove me from my favoured mid-stand perch.

Finally a senisible suggestion on this message board the increase in revenue would more than adequately pay for the dug outs to return to the breamar

Alikat did you know theres fishing days being organised during the close season, you could meet some of the paddock fatties LOL LOL ps you have the dugouts and now you want our players and staff to meet the oppo fans giving it large. Westwing and Sonofabee stay on yer own side lol PS I MH O worst suggestion made its Brentford innit

Couldn't agree more. Bloody ridiculous idea. It could even reduce our revenue in some cases where the away support is not high. The dugouts would have to be moved back as well which is a stupid waste of money for 2 seasons. We need every advantage possible in the Championship and giving sides with a big away following New Road achieves the exact opposite. I have every intention of buying a season ticket to be sure of a seat as I am sure have many others. If that seat is in the Wendy house then I would think again!

Would it not make more sense to make every effort to fill the current home facilities? Waving a white flag to "big clubs" is not really ensuring our long-term future.

We're supposed to be at home.

Our ground, our fans so sod the rest !!!

If you follow some of the arguments on here on the basis of extra revenue then we might as well give all the ground away and we can have what's left!!!

Absolutely ridiculous, lets all enjoy what we have achieved without just throwing it all away in support if a few pounds!!!!!!

LR will have plenty of room for Away fans, so we will be depending on building our Home support if we are ever going to fill it.

Therefore pissing off a section of our Home support in the meantime is a pretty idiotic idea (imo).

And on the subject of building our Home support, here are the average attendance figures for the last four seasons (with %age increase from previous season):

2013/14 - 7548 (+17.1%)
2012/13 - 6445 (+14.4%)
2011/12 - 5631 (+ 9.0%)
2010/11 - 5165

Obviously success on the field has contributed mightily to the increase, but improved marketing and (possibly) the modest economic recovery has helped, too.

And with the added attraction of Championship football, with more local/S.E. derbies and greater media attention, the club can hope to attract even more Home fans next season. Therefore some games will be Sold-Out, with a number of fans unable to get a ticket.

Do you really want the majority of those to be Brentford fans, whilst Away fans get all they want?

The only advantage would be to regain home access to the top deck of the Wendy house, which is the best view in the ground. Aside from that, stick with both sides and ER Bees please.

If true giving the brook road half of new road to away fans is the best idea. Reduces the number of away fans and gives a better home atmosphere having home fans behind both goals. Plus we can easily increase the away allocation if needs be.
