I don't think anyone will be that surprised - imo Myles produced a few outstanding performances but couldn't be relied upon to perform (more so than probably anyone else in the squad), and I think we all want better than that.

Even if we were to sign 'this' striker today bearing in mind he wouldn't have trained with the squad thus meaning he knows no other players strengths/weaknesses, would you even want him in the squad so soon? I know I wouldn't.
Just get this game out of the way, stop panicking and have faith in the team we already have and fully support them and get behind them. I'm sure Uwe is working around the clock to rectify this so for the time being... Chill dudes x

I've been reasonably a chill dude for most of the time since we dispensed with Grella and it became transparent that we had only two options up front, but I must admit that now, however months it is later, I beginning to warm up a bit

I also note that, on the Gills website, MA says of Myles and the bloke they signed from Bournemouth, words to the effect of, " They both have good experience of getting promotion from this division and with these two we get leadership, goals, experience, speed and excitement ". hopefully you are joking, weston has been far far too inconsistant in his time with us, 1 good game followed by 5 or more bad/ineffectual ones. with such a small squad we need our key players to perform EVERY game if we are to challenge for the playoffs. one more of the previous regimes mistakes off the books is good news in my opinion, well done uwe

Slightly....out of nowhere (from external appearances). I'm sure he would have been used if he stayed, but given he's gone shows he's not a vital part of the team moving forward. (Which we knew already).

If you stop and think about it this shouldn't impact us too much, although you'd have to hope that one of the reasons behind it was to free up some of the budget to put in a better offer for a target who may currently be holding off.

I doubt we'll get someone in today, but if we announce a great signing over the weekend I won't be moaning.

Probably a good move both for BFC and Myles.
At least it frees up some player budget.

The problem is that the Club regarded him as one of three strikers and it has taken us since September 2011 to sign up just one striker (El Alagui) with no sign of another at present.

Goals will be our problem this season as it was last.

I'm sure we have other players in mind and Uwe's explanation - Myles is a winger and I don't expect to use wingers - makes sense, but in the very short term, we are ridiculously light up front. Not time to panic, but it needs to be sorted in the next week or two

And there in a funny sort of way is the answer, after all the flak he took I can't see him willingly selling Weston without having a deal lined up. Also it's been openly reported that we will sign a striker very soon so surely this is just confirmation that the wheels are in motion? Alexander and McDonald were entirely different situations as they both engineered the moves whereas rosler seems to have sanctioned this one? Hey I could be wrong but that's my take on it.......

I have commented on the Weston thread and I have no problem with letting him go but what annoys me is thatbGillingham first came in for him acfewcweeks ago but at the time we wouldn't let him go for a variety of reasons.

I just wish UR and /or MW had pulled the trigger on this deal when it was first mooted as then we might have been able to bring in the required strikers before the season started rather than after.
