What's the song that's played just before the teams come out?

Me and my mate want to know and it's bugging us!

Right here, Right now by Fatboy Slim, I think. There's also an inferior version of Kashmir, which I think comes from the Godzilla film. But, whoever plays the music, certainly like Primal Scream and Iggy Pop, which is fine in my book

When we were going through a poor run of results, it has always reverted to 'The Power Game', historically, to improve form!

My mate just said it has ringing bells before it starts, like a Big Ben sound.

Oh let the sun beat down upon my face, stars to fill my dream
I am a traveler of both time and space, to be where I have been
To sit with elders of the gentle race, this world has seldom seen
They talk of days for which they sit and wait and all will be revealed

Yep, sounds like the Paddock. Maybe New Road.

A play on the Transvision Vamp song "i don't want your money honey" and instead MW on the mike singing "I don't want no strikers Matthew, I just want love" with the chorus sung by the 13 man squad that play every game in the background..? :fishing: ;)

Power Game please. Was played at my Dad's funeral as the curtain closed. Seemed a fitting send off.

Nana we came out to the Power Game in the early 70s. Sure Fulham didn't so its their Brentfordification!

We don't come out to The Power Game though - we come out to the same music as Fulham!

Agree with this.
Power Game while at GP
Once ensconced in Lionel Road, I am currently leaning towards the final, uplifting sequence of Igor Stravinsky's "Firebird Suite".
As we are indeed a pheonix rising once more, this seems highly appropriate.
Stirring stuff, pop-pickers!

Doesn't matter what they play, you can't hear it on the Ealing Road terrace anyway!

I've always liked 'The Power Game', but then that was THE TUNE when I started in the mid-60s & the programme was on TV. It couldn't have been anything else really, with Messrs. Gelson, Nelmes & Co playing.

Enjoy a good burst of 'London Calling' too, but has this been dropped from the pre-game mix recently? If so, restoring it may be the missing ingredient to our home form?

Oldway? Portsmouth? :nono: If you mean that one we used to run out to in the seventies that goes ... 'Der der der der der der der, der der der der der der, der der der der der, der der der der der', it's Mike Oldfield, In Dulci Jubilo. Another vote for Power Game from me though. :sorted:

There's no way you're old enough to remember that. ;)

Early 1970s - the Roger Cross and John O'Mara era. I am - sadly - old enough. Great record, too. Though I foolishly bought the Best of Hut Butter - not much killer, a lot of filler

But if I had to choose a new one, 'Golden Years' by David Bowie or 'Loaded' by Primal Scream - Just what is it that you want to do?

QPR use Londons calling, great as it maybe it doesn't feel like ours despite loving it blaring out when MA was in charge

Bring back The Power Game

Stop this right now...... No no no no no.... Please no more tacky "typical football" type tunes.

The music at gp nowadays is really good, bit of madness and the specials and then hard fi as they come out. It's part of new Brentford, don't go back to dark old days and things like the power game please.

Ridiculously grandiose strings music at football :nono: - the reason there's no atmosphere at Old Trafford.

Do one, I love The Power game, still enjoy hearing as much now as I did as a 5 year old late 60's at my first visit.
Plenty of time for change when we leave GP, besides Madness is hardly a brave new future?

, besides Madness is hardly a brave new future?

Actually playing it is. We used to get the same old trot blasted out year on year out, playing good tunes no matter how old they are is unheard of at football.
What was that sh*t they pumped out at Blackburn? It was so 1970's.

I saw this and thought great. as it was something I wondered about, but the thread hasn't answered your question and it's changed to "what song would you like to hear"
