I think they had three Covid cases going into yesterday
None of them recent I meant, they were able to play the cup game with a starting 11 and 9 subs, since then they’ve only lost 1 to suspension, so unless there’s any new cases the game shouldn’t, and almost certainly won’t be called off.

Thomas Tuchel was the same before the Carabao Cup game, with Chelsea, moaning that they didn't have enough players and that they would have to put out an Academy side, but ended up finishing with a full first team, and plenty more on the bench.
This is just mind games from Hassenhuttl, either that or he's getting his excuses in early.

I would be very surprised if it didn't go ahead. Which means it probably won't!
I was hoping the Premier League's stance on the postponement of games was becoming more stringent. It might be, but I'm still not convinced tactical advantages aren't a major factor. That isn't to say that teams are purposefully sabotaging matches ( cough, cough), yet injuries and Covid seem to have morphed into the same reasoning for calling a game off. So much so, I think it was Klopp, who actually said we have had minimal recovery time, a congested period and increasing injuries. Since when was that grounds to cancel? Don't mean to rant, my perspective might be wrong, but I can't be the only one who has lost money due to an incredibly late postponement. Rules are rules : if you can field a team, regardless of their quality, you play!

The FA need to take injuries out of the equation. In any other season these games would go ahead. The Newcastle game called off because they lost CW and ASM was embarrassing.
