They’ve lost 1 of their 20 man squad yesterday because of that red card, pretty sure they don’t have any COVID cases either. Only way it’s off is if there’s a COVID outbreak today or tomorrow.

Just saw Rasmus driving down the M3 with a bunch of out of date LFT tests

Southampton are still bitter about Newcastle calling off their game

And then signing half a billion worth of players

And playing them in the rearranged game

Amazing the difference in the Cancel policy between the Cup the PL and the EFL

Looking certain that all 32 Cup matches get completed this weekend

Don't want that to happen but it would help idiots like me who did not realise about the Wednesday refund details.

Exactly. Walker-Peters wasn't even their squad yesterday.

So they have to play Tuesday's match without a recognised right back. We've played the entire season without a recognised right back :fishing:

I think they had three Covid cases going into yesterday

None of them recent I meant, they were able to play the cup game with a starting 11 and 9 subs, since then they’ve only lost 1 to suspension, so unless there’s any new cases the game shouldn’t, and almost certainly won’t be called off.

I think KWP was a new Covid case (could be wrong)?

Agree with what your saying though, this is just Hassenhuttl having a whinge.

Thomas Tuchel was the same before the Carabao Cup game, with Chelsea, moaning that they didn't have enough players and that they would have to put out an Academy side, but ended up finishing with a full first team, and plenty more on the bench.
This is just mind games from Hassenhuttl, either that or he's getting his excuses in early.

Everton Leicester just postponed at Leicester’s request due too few players.

Weird, must have both had a lot of positive tests overnight given they both played strong teams yesterday.

I would be very surprised if it didn't go ahead. Which means it probably won't!

I was hoping the Premier League's stance on the postponement of games was becoming more stringent. It might be, but I'm still not convinced tactical advantages aren't a major factor. That isn't to say that teams are purposefully sabotaging matches ( cough, cough), yet injuries and Covid seem to have morphed into the same reasoning for calling a game off. So much so, I think it was Klopp, who actually said we have had minimal recovery time, a congested period and increasing injuries. Since when was that grounds to cancel? Don't mean to rant, my perspective might be wrong, but I can't be the only one who has lost money due to an incredibly late postponement. Rules are rules : if you can field a team, regardless of their quality, you play!

Their manager sowing the seeds, claiming we would be laughing with them having played extra time. Expect they will try for a postponement.

And no doubt they will complain bitterly about fixture congestion when the matches are rearranged!

The Leicester one is confusing. They had what looked like a decent team out yesterday and named 7 subs

Hoping that it is both on and that Sky now pick up the game to replace the recently postponed Everton vs Leicester game.

Different rules for the FA Cup
Even so. You would’ve thought there were 13 senior players within that squad.

Suggests that if Southampton really do want this postponed they won’t need to try too hard…

The ill disciplined red card after 30mins probably done more harm than the extra time 😀

The FA need to take injuries out of the equation. In any other season these games would go ahead. The Newcastle game called off because they lost CW and ASM was embarrassing.

How can they take injuries out of the equation? Change the rules to play 5-a-side?
