Not a game I expected anything from and thought we competed pretty well most of it. 1st goal a fluke. 2nd we were overloading too much.

So much better when Baptiste came on. Wissa was a much better partner up front for Toney too.

I keep on about it but we need better defender at RWB.

We need to get something from Leeds match though. But looked like Toney and Jansson carrying knocks at the end.

Thought we were much better in the second half, especially after the substitutions, but the first half was very poor -- directionless and lacking in cohesiveness, which wasn't surprising when you looked at the team sheet and saw how isolated our front two were likely to be. No sense of urgency to attack either. Onyeka has surely played himself out of the team for the time being. Bryan's dip in form is worrying.

As a game for "the neutral" that was a pretty dull and dreary affair tbh. A solid Spurs playing Italian zzzz style versus our understandable lack of quality compared to their squad.

Some perspective is need here. Spurs are a Top 6 side and were at home. We have had terrible injury problems and still don’t look too bad against them. AF had his best game for us and given Goode was our 6th choice CB at the start of the season he looks ok(comparing him to Ajer is just plain stupid, comparing a £1m player to a £14m?).Toney looks knackered and Bryan is really off the boil. Shandon and Jensen made a big difference IMO and should start if they can against Leeds.

Brentford fans were excellent.

in a lot of ways reminded me of the cup game last season. Didn’t really lay a glove on them until it was too late.

CN was very good, Pinnock and Jansen were solid.

Mbeumo and FTT had absolute stinkers. Canos was clearly targeted.

Would have taken 3 points happily from last 2 games. Issue is what’s left in the tank for Leeds….

Up at 3.30am and no real complaints, just a frustrating watch, I guess we have been spoiled the last few seasons. A pretty poor Tottenham team overal,l but they are working harder and we are getting easier to work out. No complaints and TF will earn his corn this month with 6 more games to go. At least we have more midfielders available for selection.

People going on about Spurs being established and having £500m of players miss the point. Spurs did not play anything like either of those things. They were bang average first half and a bit better for about 10 mins of the 2nd. We were just worse - totally pedestrian first half. It was like watching a lower league team against a PL team trying to just keep the score down and not lose. Very surprised Thomas picked the same starting XI that were poor against Everton (despite the 3 points).

The Bees team of the first 9-10 games would have got at least a point out of that. Where's the attacking mentality gone? Even the pressing seems to have eased off. Agree we looked much better with Baptiste and Jensen on, but Spurs were home and hosed by then.

No problem getting turned over by a really good side, but Spurs were not that. I'm hoping now we have Wissa and Baptiste back things might improve, but if we keep playing like that. we are going to get sucked down. We won't beat Leeds playing like that.

Getting really frustrated with Onyeka. Expected much better for the price tag. Also hope Ajer is back soon (thought he was meant to be fit by now). We are just getting pinned in our own third all the time, with no-one to bring it out. 10 passes across the back, get closed down then punt it. Rinse and repeat.

I would have taken 16 points and the position at this stage of the season, but we have got to play much better than we have in the past few games.

Outside of the Burnley game this is one we deserved to lose, nothing too concerning we were just outplayed. The rest the spurs had clearly showed, they were the more energetic bunch for most of the game, defense got back every play making life tough for Mbeumo et al. Some changes for fresher legs likely needed for Sunday. COYB

Maybe we thought if we were to attack they would hit us on the break. I think we are a bit pedestrian and would love to see more pace from the midfield. Norgaard was supreme tonight and was the best player from both sides. I keep saying this but we are giving the ball away far too easily. We needed everyone to play well to get a result and that didn’t happen. Not going to single anyone out (you all saw the game and everyone has their opinion) but some players in need of a rest and others deserve a run at a starting place. TF will need to rotate anyway and I can see at least 2 or 3 changes on Sunday.
While we didn’t cover ourselves in glory we weren’t embarrassed either and before the season this would have been seen as a free hit. Spurs under Conte will be a totally different proposition and we won’t be the last team to lose 2-0 there.

I think we were trying to walk the fine line between playing on the front foot and getting done on the break (Son from memory last season and also tonight) and staying tight and in the game but in practice not threatening until too late.

Obvious and understandable quality/composure differential in midfield cost us today. Frank and Vitaly giving the ball away far too much. We do really need Jensen in there..

Well, that was Dier.....

V slow and ponderous for the first 60 or so, no real quality anywhere on the pitch, sparked into life a little with the introduction of Baptiste but got done with a ball over the top exposing our lack of pace in the back 3, Pontus getting nowhere near the onrushing Son. The sort of lovely counter attacking goal we used to score..

Looked much better balanced once Jensen and Wissa came on and actually started to play a bit with better movement off the ball and quicker passing. Better final ball and we might have got something out of it. Wissa didn't look sharp though and Baptiste started brightly but then got a bit lost. Jensen made a big difference and getting Norgaard further forward was a real positive (one of the major downsides of the Janelt/Norgaard partnership is that he doesn't get ahead of the ball enough). MOM for me, he's so good he's almost wasted as a DM..

Spurs weren't great and you could tell they were a bit nervous after a not great run but we basically handed the game to them with our team selection. Please no more Onyeka for the time being. yes, he's got the athleticism but there's precious little else there at the moment and him and Janelt as the box to box pair are just not good enough technically together. Ivan didn't really get going until the second half and Bryan had a stinker. On the plus side thought Fernandez did v well, some great and important saves, though a couple of poor clearances, not helped though by some iffy back passes at times..

The sad reality though is that we only looked like causing problems when we had Goode launch it in from a throw. We need to be a lot cleverer going forward, something perhaps we need to bring in in January..

Oh well, were never really going to get much out of this one. Tough game on Sunday too and we'll need to be a lot more positive with our selection/tactics if we want to get anything out of that one...

I thought Norgaard was outstanding tonight. He looked classy throughout and more importantly avoided a yellow. Generally we were too pedestrian and cautious in our build up play. Even playing across our back line it would be good to see some snap in our passing - otherwise we just invite pressure that pins us back. Baptiste was an upgrade in midfield second half and Jensen showed how important good technique is to be effective in tight spaces. Cannot complain about the effort but some of our quality was missing tonight. Spurs were the better side in pretty much every position without being particularly fantastic themselves.

I suspect opposition coaches have had time to study what we did earlier in the season and then put a plan in place…. Big challenge for TF now is to tray and change it up again.

Hats off to the fans who were there, great job. Strangely tepid game and performance from us. We're still very new to this of course, but we looked much too timid. TF said we were brave but I didn't see it as we created so few chances. Defensively we look well organised but the lack of pace is concerning. Leeds and Watford are massive games.
