Might be interested in this.. Does it have to be fully Brentford fans teams or a bit of a mixture.

Bit late to the party, but happy to help out wherever needed. Would be very interested in playing in the match if there are still numbers required?

I've just read that the Just Giving web site take at least 5% of the sum collected. So forget it
They do have costs of running the whole process and it's much more efficient than collecting cash and cheques.

It's also auditable, which will be an important element with so many people involved.

I think using Just Giving results in more than the 5% they take for admin etc being collected.
Is that using the crowd funding option or has an actual charity been started for Stan?

Just giving is a very effective means of collecting fundraising and means you can reach people you would never have a chance of talking to or getting donations off. It also enables others to donate easily within 5 minutes.

The GPG has given me just short of £1000 for the Marathon and ive only ever met a few of you.

I think it would be a fantastic idea to open a page.

There are quite a few retrobates around Brentford who don't follow football but like the old rogue. It would be interesting to see them at GP.;)

Gaffer Here Guy Bee,

The match referee is sadly already confirmed - the GPG's "Ladbroke" has been our match official since day 1.

BUT, how old are your lads ? We could offer them both Lino positions if of age and have full kit.
20 and 15, both have full herts fa ref kit

Talking of retrobates, has Chris Kamara been contacted. I am sure that he would like to take part given that he played with Stan, and would be a good contact to have given his links in the football/media world.

I wonder if he would play in drag.

Could we get Stephen Hunt to play for us. I'm sure he could renew his friendship with Martin Rowlands.

...and if you stick a tenner in a charity pot, how much of that do you think goes to the charity?

They all have costs - bills and wages to pay.

The Daily Mail kicked up a stink about this, the other day. I think it's distracting from the point of this thread.

Gaffer Here,

I am meeting with Mark Devlin before the home game with Derby to finalise all details for the game.

Apologises for delay but I am in the USA and Mr Devlin has been out of office for a few days during the International
Break. - We both thought it made more sense to get all details sorted face to face rather than continuous emails from
different parts of the world.

Thank you all for your patience.

Sorry Paul,
Thought you were back. Remember you saying (didn't check) that you'd be cracking on when back. My mistake.

Big Mac - I will post a detailed post within next 24 / 48 hours which will call for players to confirm their desire to play. It will
Include the Bank Account opened for this venture so that donation for playing can be made by bank transfer. Will also include
my address if a player prefers to send in a cheque.

It will also cover all other details.

I agree with above.

I would love to help and would happily do so if I wasn't refereeing elsewhere that day.

Even if they did it in split shifts. Someone comes at 1245 and someone else at say 2pm would be better than someone saying that can't do it full stop. You can all still have an hour or so in the pub before a match that way.
Get your kids to get involved too if you can.

With the GetWestLondon report suggesting 13 additional players to the few ex pros already committed, there will be a few people left unable to play. This could turn into a lottery...

Perhaps reward those prepared to give up their time by shaking buckets, tomorrow? ;) :looks: :sneakoff:
