Agree with Banana.

Wish him the best and hope he doesn't produce anything like them on Sept 12th.

Don't know why but I don't think he will get more than halfway through his contract

Good player for us, scored some spectacular goals for us, Fulham, Derby etc..

Sorry that he has gone because of his accurate shooting ability, and that he is still developing as a player.
So thanks Stuart for those special moments you gave us. Good luck in your career, except against us!

Just hope that he doesn't get let down by "half-season" Rosler who is fast developing a reputation as a manager, who is gone by Christmas!

Good, versatile player who is on the upwards part of his career but probably wouldn't have been an automatic starter for us. Will be a threat for Leeds and as long as he has an off day against us I hope he does well there.

All the best, Stu (except for games against the Bees, of course) and thanks for your efforts in the red and white stripes.

Developed a lot as a player. I thought he was massively overrated 18 months ago and would have laughed at anyone saying he would go for £1m+. Grew in strength and effectiveness and scored some great goals (Derby, Fulham). I can see why he would want to be a more regular starter and why we would accept a seven figure fee.

Not at all, it's a shame he's gone but he has his reasons, I wish him well but I don't like Leeds very much so hoping he does well and they get relegated, can that work?
Me too. I was just responding to your irony!

Yeah Dallas liked you and think you peaking now. Shame thought the point of developing players was to get the best time from them at relatively low price now leeds get the benefit

Yes but as far as I can gather, the club wanted to talk about a contract, he didn't so set the wheels in motion as he felt he didn't want the role of impact sub. If Rosler uses him as he did in hid time at GP the only difference may be the view from the bench and the comfort of the seats

The first of the "Irish troublemakers" out of the door. JD next?

Hope it works out for SD, but I'm sure plans are in place for an "upgrade" to the Bee's squad.

Thanks for the goals away against Foolscum. Gave me bragging rights with the Putney Poser supporters at work for a couple of weeks.

Of all the players to leave he is the one who really saddens me. I literally feel a bit melencholy today. Moses is going for the pay rise to a weaker team and we get the buy out cash... Not too worried about that. If Andre goes for mega bucks we all know it's part of the model. JD leaving is neither here nor there... Loved him but I just get this feeling we need to ship out the old "characters" for the new structure to work and he is getting too old to be carried and we are replacing with better.

SD however is a really good players who fits into our style and is the type of player and person we want in this club. Having spoken to the club and agreeing its best to leave looks to me like he wasn't really part of the plans and he wanted to go anyway.

Will always remember him fondly, we will move on but it's tough because he really was a favourite and it's not as if we have received an offer we couldn't refuse.

" a very bg loss " not sure about that i don't think he would have started much.
Played 43 games and got 8 goals in the best Brentford team in a very long time.

No doubt he will be a loss, not every signing we've made this summer will hit the ground running

He'll play for N Ireland for a good few years and, if he converts some of those quality shots early on, he'll win LU fans over, no problem. Big potential, just a shame he won't be with us to realise it. Thanks and good luck to him but we'll manage without

Good luck Stuart. I like him and his attitude (see the picture when Judge scored the penalty that sealed promotion from Div 1)
Great goals against Fulham away and an assist at home. Wish him well

It maybe would of been nice to keep him for squad depth bur clearly he wanted more than a bit part role as he wouldnt of been first choice

I don't think so. Believe he was out of contract when he left us and that he's now too old for us to get a development fee either. I may be wrong though.

And his sale is outside the normal model because he's still very likely to improve for several seasons. That said, £1.3m for someone we bought for £15k strikes me as a decent deal all round.

And if you think about it we sold Dallas for more than we paid for Jota

Makes me feel a lot better about it!

I agree Nick, he was good but IMO he was not consistant. Players are bloody greedy, and some of them need six months in a factory to show how lucky they are.

It is a big loss in the sense that his best years are still ahead of him. I am truly gutted he has left - the kind of player you need for away games.

May not have started many games but a good player to have on the bench. It is after all a squad game. I don't buy this that with the squad we have he wouldn't get into the 18 match squad. We must have a blinding squad then and at the moment we don't.

That second goal against Fulham and the scenes in the stands afterwards will always live in my memory. Was an instrumental part of probably one of the best away days ever.

Really wish him luck.

Liked the bloke, a good player. Unfortunately, he didn't want to play for us anymore & seeing his tweet re JD, I guess that tells us all we need to know. Bye................ You owe BFC an awful lot. I hope you realise that when your sense of injustice has abated. Hope your career is injury free.

I think the model has worked, and worked well.

We clearly did offer him a new contract which he refused.

I do not have the pleasure of being ITK. So irispective of his reasons , personal views or footballing reasons making him the offer of a new contract at least a year out allowed the club to make an informed choice.

I would suggest that all players on 3 or 4 year contracts, the club has a policy 15 , 18 months out to decide if they are going to offer a new one purely based on the performance stats, allowing them not to end up in the same situation where a player who is still wanted to walk away at the end of their contract and personally cash in.

How much was it reported that Reading offered for Donaldson ? A player who left us FOC to negotiate their own signing on fee.

Still sorry to see him go though

The tweet was merely acknowledging a good friend and wishing him well for his move.

Meanwhile, it followed directly on from:

A huge thank you to every1 @BrentfordFC I have had an amazing 3 years there that I'll never forget. Special mention to the fans who have... ... Been brilliant from day 1.your support has been very much appreciate

Unless I'm misreading your comment (above) I think it is both churlish and unfair.
