You say "some", but barring yourself, I don't think anyone would argue that CR didn't go to a whole new level entirely as he entered his mid-to-late 20's. And kept on doing so.

The notion that Maupay would improve more under Potter than he would under Frank is based on not much, it's a cliche that gets dragged out sometimes when a new player signs for a club. Odds are he'd improve either way but the key to his future isn't Potter, it's against testing himself against better defenders and learning to raise his skill level accordingly. Ronaldo carried on his improvement, he works so hard on every aspect of his game that this would happen regardless of where he was.

No, it refers to being developed at any club in the PL/FL systems. Both Pogba (MU) and Lukaku (Everton) count as "homegrown" for example, as do players with certain Welsh clubs eg James (Swansea), whereas players developed at Scottish or Irish clubs do not.

It's one of the reasons why MU are paying such outrageous sums eg for Maguire and AWB (and Longstaff?) - they need to bolster their homegrown quota from the pile of dung they have at present (Jones, Smalling etc). Also explains why they're reluctant to do swap deals for foreign players for Pogba, Lukaku - they much prefer/need hard cash.

The fact I have left out big signings this Summer is a testament to the very difficult job Thomas Frank has, here is a team that easily passes the rules...
