Thought last night that the Pompey keeper and the Centre Back Burgess could do a job for us, not a great deal got past Burgess in both games and the keeper seemed confident with both saves and crosses. It was mentioned on Sky that Burgess was looking to play at a higher level if Pompey didn’t get promoted as his contract is about to expire.

Not sure of either the keeper or Burgess’s age or if they would fit our model

I think it is the other Pompey left sided centre half who is attracting interest from about half the clubs in the Championship.

Do we have an update when the dosh is put into the brown paper bag and Phil is driving to Leicester Forest services?

Hibernian defender O’Connor has enjoyed training stints with all three clubs and held talks with them over potential moves.
A Brentford source has told Football Insider the club have managed to convince the 18-year-old to move to Griffin Park this summer.
Must have worked in our favour him actually going to Burnley and Huddersfield......west London would seem like paradise in comparison ;)

I imagine flying into Heathrow and then being driven to Jersey road is a much better experience than the journey from Edinburgh to the satanic mills or the Happy Valley which must rank amongst the most depressing places on earth on a rainy day.

Looking out the window coming into land and seeing both GP and the gleaming LR.

Exactly.

Don't know if it will give a nod to his (potential) playing style IF he joins us, but he was converted from an attacking midfield player by his club. Their fans infer he was frustrated at a lack of starts in the development team and suggest he might have clashed with Eddie May.

Huddersfield u19s played Hibs in Edinburgh on Tues, don't know how this over-lapped with their interest in O'Connor but given the timing of the fixture and the player presumably committing to one of three clubs this week it makes the game's timing slightly interesting.

Matt Clarke is the one we are hopefully keeping tabs on - left sided CB who is good on the ball. Impressed me every time I have watched him play in the past 2 seasons.

There's got to be some mileage in picking up more PL development cast-offs like Da-Silva (whether for the B-Team or for the first-team squad to be pushing for a place). Would probably have the benefit that we could get them on long deals, at not huge expense, with great potential rewards if they go well.

I agree with the main point, but in the case of J D-S was it not the case that he cast them off rather than the other way around?

I’d imagine all they need to do is point to the ‘Rob Rowan’ board of B teamers who’ve debuted for the first team.. that’s got to be a pretty convincing argument for a young player. It says if you’re good enough you’ll get a chance here... given that this has all the hallmarks of a Rob signing, that couldn’t be more appropriate

I think you're technically right from memory but also will obviously be to do with what they offer and his prospects of making appearances for them. If they really wanted to keep him I'm sure they could offer sufficient money or promises of game time to manage it. In the end - just an example of the kind of player we might be able to capture again.

I suspect 5/6 of those 9 listed above have 'case closed' on them already.

Disregarding Pinnock, the Tykes won't sell their g/k given their promotion and Hamburger's demands for their player make a PL move more realistic. Could happen as I think HSV have missed out on promo this season.

1,3,4 and poss at a long shot 5 are poss goers depending on outgoings, if NM goes 4 will presumably be the targeted replacement?

Rumoured OUTS:

- Said Benrahma - Spurs, Arsenal, West Ham, Crystal Palace, Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan - https://www.90min.com/posts/6323813...d-benrahma-as-premier-league-interest-hots-up
- Neal Maupay - Huddersfield, Aston Villa, Middlesbrough - https://www.90min.com/posts/6348254...-maupay-amid-interest-from-championship-clubs
- Romaine Sawyers - Aston Villa, Middlesbrough - https://sport.bt.com/news/brentford...s-being-eyed-by-middlesbrough-S11364323532377
- Daniel Bentley - Unknown - https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...ex-Runarsson-prepare-sell-Daniel-Bentley.html
- Rico Henry - Aston Villa - https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sp...transfer-henry-brentford-aston-villa-15554595
- Ezri Konsa - Arsenal, Crystal Palace - https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/8858611/ezri-konsa-crystal-palace-brentford-summer-transfer/

I suspected it's very possible that the players that spent time out on loan last season will also leave; Justin Shaibu, Tom Field, Reece Cole, and Josh Clarke.
Luke Daniels has been mentioned as a probable departure on here too.

I suspect you are right, but I believe there is utility in listing genuine links on here - as it gives fans perspective over the profile of players we are looking at.

Middlesbrough, Palace and Villa crop up more than once here. I believe Middlesbrough also bid for Sergi Canos last summer.
This indicates which clubs might have genuine admiration for our squad - they may be back to enquire about others.

nice round-up, but it should come with a "HITC talk constant nonsense" disclaimer, perhaps? :)
