Maybe, but just cannot see it being Bannan, he’d get eaten alive in the top divisionNot so sure. If we go up I'd be surprised if we didn't add 2 or 3 older heads to the squad. Plus TF rates Bannan highly

I think we were looking at Joe Williams at one point. With Wigan under administration are there then some of their players that should be a target for Brentford? Antonee Robinson reminds me a bit of Rico Henry although he was very close to join AC Milan this january
Also, would we have to dump data analysis to sign Bannan? Not so sure. If we go up I'd be surprised if we didn't add 2 or 3 older heads to the squad. Plus TF rates Bannan highly
No need for the condesending remark, Bannon is a class act that would suit our system perfectly. I asked about a players style of play, not his age or whether he would replace anybody.you need to watch lots more championship football if you think they good enough for us
He's a very good player. I expect he ticks every box from a data perspective. IF we go up, I wouldn't be surprised if a couple of experienced squad players arrived. That doesn't mean dumping the existing approach (which has evolved in recent years anyway)There would be no chance, absolutely no chance ! I doubt MB’s master plan was to use the data analysis to get to the top, then dump it and sign Barry Bannan !
I think Bannan is very talented, too. I mean, anyone who could stand out in the S.Wed team we tonked 5-0 has to have something about him. After watching lots of Championship games over the past 2 weeks, who has impressed the most & would suit the "Brentford Style" my top pick would be Bannon from Sheff Wed, he would be a perfect fit for our style. also DaSilva at Bristol City would offer great competition to Rico.
We signed Tommy Smith for our first season in this division. He's a very good player. I expect he ticks every box from a data perspective. IF we go up, I wouldn't be surprised if a couple of experienced squad players arrived. That doesn't mean dumping the existing approach (which has evolved in recent years anyway)
He’s come down from the PL. Broke through at Villa, and last had a spell at Palace c.2015. Yes, he’s quality and just needs someone to take a punt on him. Probably do him no end of good getting away from a basket case of a club anyway...I personally think Bannan has been the best player we've played over the last 5 years of championship in the sense he's showed up every game.
I think he's a top quality player who should have got a prem move at some point.
Is that to me? Blimey, I’m not advocating signing him, just aware he’s said something about ‘playing for a team like Brentford’ or similar.and Bannan would replace who in the team ?
No it wasnt aimed at any one , just genuinely wondered who he would replace ?Is that to me? Blimey, I’m not advocating signing him, just aware he’s said something about ‘playing for a team like Brentford’ or similar.
I’ve even less ideas than usual (early July and don’t know which division we’ll be in). When do the windows close, anyone?
Javi Venta, he couldn't even speak the lingo right?Javi Venta / Tommy Smith sort of way, where we're clearly getting them in for coaching and management
Wasn't he in a band with his brother?Javi Venta, he couldn't even speak the lingo right?
I’m not 100% sure but I think we were linked with him a couple of years ago. Maybe it’s old news recycled.https://twitter.com/agsports_/status/1279099080300466178?s=21
Link to Union Berlin’s Sebastian Anderson. Think there’s been a link somewhere before but all a bit tenuous.. 5m euro release clause apparently.. doesn’t seem to have done a great deal before this season and at 28....
DaSilva would offer competition but not 'great competition', obviously good enough for the Championship but is he good enough to play in the Premiership like Rico is or will be. We should be now looking at premiership quality or premiership potential. After watching lots of Championship games over the past 2 weeks, who has impressed the most & would suit the "Brentford Style" my top pick would be Bannon from Sheff Wed, he would be a perfect fit for our style. also DaSilva at Bristol City would offer great competition to Rico.
Believe you are incorrect on that front. you have to be with a club for three years before the age of 21. I think he joined Aston Villa in his very early teens.Bannon is Scottish so won't help with the homegrown quota, plus his age is against him. Always seems to be the best opposition player on the pitch whenever we play SW though
I stand corrected, just his age thenBelieve you are incorrect on that front. you have to be with a club for three years before the age of 21. I think he joined Aston Villa in his very early teens.
I stand corrected, just his age then
Played 80+ games in the Prem :shrug:Maybe, but just cannot see it being Bannan, he’d get eaten alive in the top division
Think Robinson failed medical due to heart murmur happy to be corrected. With Wigan under administration are there then some of their players that should be a target for Brentford? Antonee Robinson reminds me a bit of Rico Henry although he was very close to join AC Milan this january
So did Brian Deane, but I wouldn’t want us signing him next season either !Played 80+ games in the Prem
Expect to see more tackles from Said.According to @ellarguero, Messi considering leaving Barcelona at the end of next season.
:bound:
Don’t forget the language barrier as well....I stand corrected, just his age then
I really hope they get relegated.

They are so good at executing their transfers - NOT.
The most arrogant entitled club ever.I really hope they get relegated.
Back to life, back to reality, back to the here and nowCouple of Millwall players stood out last night - Jed Wallace and Marlon Romeo. Probably more likely to be signings for Championship should we not be promoted this season though.
You can't beat a good executionThey are so good at executing their transfers - NOT.

This is precisely the right question to ask for anyone on this thread. If a supposed target is young, where do or can they play to be brought in- who would they replace? If they’re at or near plateau then they need to be immediate first team.and Bannan would replace who in the team ?
Agree but IMHO there's no way we wouldn't add 2 or 3 experienced players to the mix. This is precisely the right question to ask for anyone on this thread. Bannan is good but would we play him instead of Jensen, Da Silva, Baptiste? Would he be better value than extending Marcondes’ contract?
I’d much rather, if we went up, that the club trusted in the players we have and their policy of recruiting hot young players and perhaps not stay up than to pack out with experienced players who’ll hold back the development of our pipeline.
I'd think it's more likely that we'd recruit a player or two who are currently playing in the Premier League if experience was a criterion.Agree but IMHO there's no way we wouldn't add 2 or 3 experienced players to the mix.
If there were another opportunistic availability like Pontus of an experienced first rate player (eg I note Kante seems to be entering his final year, albeit he’s younger than Bannan and still at his world class peak!) I’m sure we’d be in like a shot but otherwise, I’m not sure.Agree but IMHO there's no way we wouldn't add 2 or 3 experienced players to the mix.
Jota and Bannan mentioned on this thread but could easily be others.
If we go up wages aren't an issue & the modern game is much more squad based rather than just first X1
And they are at an age where they will get better. Bannan is coming down on the other side of the slope. Remind me, why would we want to buy him?I don't get the Bannan thing. Josh is a class ABOVE. Baptise is a talent too
I am all for bringing in experience but that does not have to mean signing players over 30.Agree but IMHO there's no way we wouldn't add 2 or 3 experienced players to the mix.

Agreed. Age is just a number.I am all for bringing in experience but that does not have to mean signing players over 30.
