BBC website:
"Brentford completely outclassed Gary Rowett's side and only some poor finishing at times and fine goalkeeping from Scott Carson prevented a rout."
What do you have to achieve nowadays for it to be considered a rout?

What a cracking performance. Rico and Josh were outstanding; Harley...what can you say? When he surges forward it's like the Red Sea parting.
4-0 against expensive play off candidates, and it didn't flatter us.
Like all the other old farts in here who sat through years and years of Division 3 mediocrity I am so grateful for matches like this.
And, I remain very fond of the Warburton team and sad that so many seek to rubbish said Manager, but I think we are probably a better side now and the trajectory is clearly upwards. And to think so many were keen to fire Smith...
Great day, great performance. Topsy turvy but a great season.
A lot of the championship football under Warburton was fantastic too. BUT these are all OUR players, no loanees, and as others have done, if you list who isnt even in the squad (mainly injured) its incredible

And not many out of contract in the summer either. (I am not sure but I am guessing just Vibe and Hoffman, possibly Macloed). Jota and jooze but both of those we can extend.

A few on just one year though. Jota, Dean, Woods (?) Barbet (?)

Guy I don't think any of those are out of contract until next summer 2018.

I go to this page https://griffinpark.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=9 for contract lengths.

Only McCormack is out of contract in June. :)

Seeing players contracted till 2020 or 2021  - feels like I'm reading science-fiction.

This comment from the Derby Telegraph website, made me chuckle...
Not sour grapes, but I thought there was a cap on how many foreigners were allowed these days in a team? Holman (Germany), Vibe (Denmark), Canos (Spain), Jozefzoon (Holland), Barbot (France), Jota (Spain) and Kerschbaumer (Austrian) makes seven. It's the same with Huddersfield they also had seven yesterday, five from Germany. Is this how Championship clubs have to go, dump all British players rob other leagues for their premiership players?
I hope no-one tells him that Sawyers is also a foreigner.
Not sour grapes though...

Macca & Egan too. :)
I did add the Irish bunch (and Bjelland and Colin), but then realised that he was referring to players in our squad for Friday's game. :)

I deleted Egan, McCormack, Judge and Bonham. Though I should have left the first two in. :homer:

Bleedin' foreigners...

Unless I've been hallucinating I'm sure that Woods signed a nice long deal a couple of months ago, McLeod has signed an extension and wouldn't have been out of contract yet anyway and Vibe has another year to run as does Hoffman.

Strangely, I thought there was a cap on the number of overpaid, useless old journeymen you could include in your team but clearly not. Still, not envious.

I was looking back at the programme for this home match v Derby on 14th April 2017, and also the video.
I then noticed something surprising.

It was exactly 3 years ago, but of the team, and indeed of the whole first team squad then of 29 players, only 3 players still remain in the club - Canos, Henry, and Balcombe.
Apart from Canos being injured, only Rico has featured as a regular this season.

Plus before the kick-off Mark Burridge, commentating, mentions Thomas Frank, and says the predictive words to the effect "There’s Thomas Frank, an important part of Brentford’s future!”

Interesting reading.
