India looking wobbly at 43-3 after 9 against NZ.

Pant and Virat in though so could still easily go either way.

Splendid week away and then erm I see the India result. Ha. I think I have been fortunate that both India games I haven’t seen as was at BCS last week and flying back today.

India are out. Oh well sh*t happens and can see Kohli now retiring from T20s internationals. The tournament itself is a bit of a blah with quarter/ half empty stadiums and no buzz at all in UAE. Not sure winning the toss means one win the game is good for cricket. The dew factor is huge especially in Dubai.

I didn’t actually go to the England Australia game after all and not read all the comments above but Woakes is superb. Should be opening the bowling in the Ashes.

Morgan wouldn't be anywhere near this side if he wasn't a brilliant captain.

England finish on 163-4

Buttler gets his century off the last ball of the innings.

Should be a great chase.

Nissanka run out second ball. Pathetic to get out that way 2 balls into a must win game.

SL lose 4 wickets for 5 runs.

It’s almost over. SL need 29 from 8.

Brilliant from England. Apart from 1 drop from Woakes that fielding was outstanding. Buttler heads and shoulders about anyone in the world in White ball atm.

If you lose toss out there and bat 1st, you can still win if you're good enough. Still, as it's a bit of meh tournament (probably as India are almost out :fishing:) I'm not getting overly excited about us winning these games

Ha quite a few references to India and Kohli during an England Sri Lanka match #obsessed

Good win by England and a very good test for them. Can see England doing what India did in the last T20 WC. Win all your group matches and lose the toss and out in the semi final :)

Amazing captaincy from Morgan but watching him bat today I did think he looked past his best. I wonder if we win this tournament he'll retire from T20's, perfect way to go out.

Buttler the first England player to score a hundred in every format of the game.

Not obsessed about India or Kohli, Why would I be about a 2nd rate T20 team ? ;-) Seriously, it's just banter and I like a lot of what you say. Although belittling the tournament now because the crowds are poor did you a disservice and will attract some response. As for Kohli, would be a shame if he retired from any form of cricket. Maybe i'm in the minority of Englishmen who actually like him because he's an argumentative sod and very good cricketer. I like nastiness in sportsmen if they can back it up and it makes things a bit more feisty. When I was a kid, India were this polite, roll over and tickle your tummy sort of side. Now they're a bit of a beast which is only good for competition.

Back to this tournament, really hoping for an England Pakistan final as the tournament deserves the best 2 sides in the final. But, it's T20 and anything can happen on any given day

Just going to pick up on one point. I really wasn’t belittling the tournament just because India are more or less out. More that fact I can’t get into it. I had tickets for the Eng/ Aus game and could have stayed on a few more hours in Dubai and watched the India NZ game but T20 doesn’t do it for me. I was ‘so what’ when I saw the India result last night. I’m always gutted when India lose a test match and was gutted when NZ knocked India out of the ODI semi final but what we have another T20 World Cup next year in Australia. When winning a toss favours one side so much and a lack of buzz in UAE about the WC with stadiums no more than 25% full - it is pretty dull. I could be in the minority of one :)

The venues aren't helping the tournament are they? Nearly empty and ground announcers trying to create an atmosphere each game with "hey - ho" or some sh*t after each over to 500 people.

Plus the fact you normally win if you win the toss shows the whole format is wrong. Should dump the minnows like Scotland and Namibia and have two groups of 5.

Each side to play other group teams twice - once batting first and the other bowling first ie Aust v NZ (Aust batting first) then the next time NZ v Aust (NZ battling first).

Same for the semis and final - 2 games - run rates to decide draws

Do have to admit that Babar is the best T20 batsmen in the world.

ICC just announced that the team with the highest total score automatically qualifies for the semi finals.

Only Afghanistan team management know why they batted first against Pakistan and with the R/R for Group B decided that India would bat first today.

They changed the rules halfway through?
