Why severance? I can see us organising a good loan, like the ill fated Swansea one, but why that? While Tariqe’s contributions have been all in championship and cups, he did some great work for the team. Clearly was trying too hard in training, to alter his supposed reputation for not being a good trainer. I for one wish him a speedy recovery.

Nonsense. A quick glance at Google ("footballer out for the foreseeable future") will show a load of players have been publicised as being "out for the foreseeable future", including some with hamstring injuries.

There was plenty of good chances lately for him to make an appearance and yet was nowhere to be found. I'm not psychic but TF must not think he is good enough right now, and I trust him. Loan him out I think is best for us and Fosu.

I suspect neither Thomas nor Phil think he’s good enough for the Premier League but that doesn’t mean he will be treated badly. More likely we will be doing everything possible to find him a new employer.

He was injured. But before his injury there were games where he made the bench and didn’t come on when we were chasing (eg Burnley and Norwich). So if he’s fit enough before the end of the window I’m sure we’ll loan him out but if not, the test will be whether he is in our named 25 man squad when that’s resubmitted. He might be, just because all bar Eriksen our targets seem to be under 21 so wouldn’t take up a place in the 25.

I'd have thought he was another one we're working hard to find another club for, loan or permanent. Over half-way through our Premier League season and I'm sure we've worked out the sort of players needed; that will drive both recruitment and disposals.

I don’t have one scintilla of evidence that we have treated him badly. I said I was worried we have. My only point is that we have never given him a chance this season. Not one minute of league football. And I simply don’t understand it. He’s been frozen out and nobody has explained why. He looked to me like a decent player last season, influential in our promotion and IMO certainly a better performer than say Ghoddos, who’s been involved in most match day squads this season. Yes I know that TF and others know better than me and I get most decisions that he makes but this one I simply can’t get my head around. Maybe one day we will get a better understanding of the reason behind the decision but from the outside it seems bizarre.

Why do you expect an explanation? Whatever the reasons he’s not playing, it is right they stay private for the sake of the player as well as the club. Nothing is ever gained by washing dirty linen in public.

He's a winger, we don't play with wingers right now so now place for him is all. He showed last season that while he could link up well with Ivan he wasn't good enough as an 8 in the Championship (show by the fact we ended up playing Marcdones, a player we were happy to move on this summer, in front of him in the business end of the season) and I would guess he's not shown any reason to think he'd do a better job in that role in the league above. Maybe he could have got a run out as wing back but at start of the season Sergi was doing well on the right and then Mads got his chance and has taken it. Rico is a class above so he's not going to get a chance ahead of him and while Rico was injured so was Fosu.
I don't think he's been treated badly and there's no grand conspiracy, he's just become a victim of our formation change and there's just no space for him. He did well for us in spells last season for sure and I like him but the step up means some players get left behind sadly.
