Unchanged team please ! Look at what happened to Everton and especially West Ham ! Anyone who thinks this will be an easy game is complacent! Barnet apart from their last game when their keeper was sent off have been decent lately apparently. We have to expect a really tough game , we didn’t exactly blow a poor Oxford away in the last round with 4 changes , Maupay , Sawyers are integral to the way we play and they need to start. Let’s prioritise the FA Cup , we aren’t going down and we’ve left it too late to make the playoffs, it’s great national exposure and with some luck with the draw a semi final place is a bigger possibility than a play off place. Would make negotiating with an agent for a foreign player we want to sign just that bit easier !! .
Take this game lightly and we can be embarrassed!!
I would hope that any changes that are made, are based upon the likely physicality and determination of the opposition, rather than giving untested players a chance to prove themselves, which is what happened that disastrous evening a few years back against Oxford in the League Cup. Forget the supposed disappointment of Barnet fans drawing dull Brentford; for each and everyone of their players this game is massive, as a win takes them to the fifth round for the first time in the club’s history, and more positive exposure than they will get from any other game this season. We need the likes of both Sawyers and Maupay to start IMO, and we need to go out and impose our game on them, as the longer it remains nil nil, the more they will gain belief in the opportunity to cause an upset. We will make a couple of changes but.....................
IMO respect Barnet and put out our strongest team.
Regardless of the cup the one thing we dont want to happen is lose and kill off all the recent good work and confidence building.
We don't exactly have a raft of ever-presents either this year.Everything to lose in this game. All neutrals and pundits will root for Barnet, so nothing less than our strongest XI will do. Rubbish argument for resting anybody given we haven't played for days and there will never be a better chance to get to round 5.
Indeed. They are very confident they will beat us after their win against Sheffield United. Most of them carefully avoid the fact that they played a Sheffield team team with 10 changes. I’m fairly confident we won’t be doing a Sheffield.Man City played an almost full strength side yesterday and look what they did! We should do the same.
Said a few changes which I read as possibly three which I would take to be Moses for Henrik and Canos for either Benrahma or Ollie. Then a case of who is in goal and does McEachran play instead of one of the two guys in middle of park.TF implied in his Moose interview, available on the OS, that there wouldn't bee many, if any, changes. He reiterated that we want a good cup run this year!
McEachran makes no sense alongside Kamo, 3 centre backs and two holding midfielders hands the initiative to the home side?I expect that’s what he’ll go with although JM in a two man midfield makes me very uneasy.
Talking to Barnet supporters, they are scared stupid of our passing ability and speed. So, we must maximise on these fronts. And that means minimum of changes. We don't play again until Saturday and haven't played since last Saturday, no excuse for not playing full strength squad from the start - bring newbies on if we are cruising but don't risk starting them but hope a strong bench can salvage a mess.
