I've often heard how teams, with an extended break, can lose a bit of sharpness, and therefore I'd start the game with the strongest team available, so they can try and keep the winning momentum. Otherwise, it'll be over two weeks without playing for some of the players, which I'm not sure is the right thing to do.

Thomas has just effectively echoed exactly the above sentiments.
I was thinking that maybe Norgaard would get a breather or play in midfield and the back three be Goode Pinnock and Sorensen , but from his comments suspect Norgaard will play in back three again so he can continue to master that role and be as progressive as possible. Who plays alongside him more of a question mark.

in a similar vein then expect Toney and Forss to continue to establish a relationship up front.
Midfield three I would expect Ghoddos to get a start as Janelt Jensen and Fosu at this stage are very much bedded in as a trio , and we would gain more by getting Ghoddos up to speed so he can be a potential game changer from the bench come the play offs

Great seeing you on the news the other day , not a great reason to be on , but you seem to be doing well !

Given that we cannot guarantee anything beyond playoff semis, I would aim for as much glory as possible now. ie 87 points and Toney to start and hopefully get a goal and an assist as a minimum .... this is not just about his records but also for the fans ... if we don't go up we can at least bask in the glory of IT's records for the club and what would normally be an auto spot with 87 points.

Possibly start Bryan and Emiliano/Ghoddos for Canos and Jensen. In other words give minutes to players who are likely to play a part in the playoff semi.

If the rumours are true re Henry then we've lots of options, particularly with Bidstrup being so impressive last week. I suspect we'll want Janelt to get some minutes after missing a week though so would expect him to start. Otherwise it's a bit of a toss up.. Would like to see Mbeumo get some minutes as he's looking confident but where best to play him in this system. Equally one of Ghoddos/Marcondes as second striker or AM would be good but can def see the argument for going as strong as possible. Having said that whilst 80% of the team picks itself there's still a few positions that could be open for other players to grab..

I couldn’t give a toss if we treat the game as a stroll, avoid any tackles and lose. We’re 3rd now and that’s how we’ll finish. The only important games are the play offs.

Speak for yourself , i will be gutted if we lose this . It won't help the play off cause one bit if we lose but might help a little bit if we play well and win. IMHO of course

It is because the PO's are important that I would give minutes to players that will likely be used.

If Henry's fit as per rumour..

Raya, Roerslev, Jansson, Norgaard, Pinnock, Henry, Janelt, Jensen, Canos, Mbeumo, Toney.

Give Henry 45 mins, then Canos back to LWB, Ghoddos on as AM, Forss on for Toney once he's bagged one... Lovely..

Not for me , it’s Fosu , let Canos have a roving roll with Rico left side

If you mean Canos behind Toney I think it could be interesting, but harsh on Forss who I think is important in this system. Can't see Canos in the midfield 3, gives it away too often.

We already play fosu there so there’s not a lot of difference in that respect. His passing’s pretty good at the moment though and he’d give us that directness and desire to take players on and shoot which we haven’t really had from midfield. Would be another body arriving in the box too which can only be good. It’s prob moot as doubt henry is fit but if ever there was a game to try it it would be this one. After this weekend experiments are over..

I think there's a big difference. Fosu is doing DaSilva's role as the midfield ball progressor/carrier from the middle of the pitch. Ride a challenge, get the ball forward. Canos is always trying flicks and quick one twos that have a high risk/reward. Don't get me wrong I love Sergi but not in that role.

Yes that what I would like to see and yes it tough on Fosu but the same can be said about leaving Canos on the bench. So it’s all about bringing back Henryninto the side , hard choice but that’s part of what Thomas paid to do

Personally I think that's what we need in that role though, it can be much more like a no.10 in this system. Canos would play much closer to the front two where we want to be playing quick passes and flicks and committing players. Fosu for me in this role is too deep, more of an 8, plays some nice passes but isn't aggressive enough going forward and gets caught on the ball at times. DaSilva at his best drives into the box and causes havoc and we're still missing that. We've got Janelt and Jensen with Norgaard behind who can deliver the progressive passes and provide the security. It probably won't happen because if we were going to go down that route we'd have probably tried Ghoddos and Marcondes there already. It's just something I'd like to see and think it could be quite effective, particularly against teams sitting back more. Henry prob won't start so it's all a bit moot but I'd like us to try it if he did.

Sorry I’m late to party here but on what basis is it that we believe Henry is fit?

Could not disagree more, did we bask in the glory of coming third last season?

Fringe players to start, it's a nothing game against a team in terrible form. I think the emphasis on momentum by beating Bristol City is overstated, compared to risk of losing key first team players to injury (and losing the momentum gained with that line-up).

I guess we will find out what the people that really matter think in 24 hrs.

The next 3 or hopefully 4 games are a continuum – the 11-game unbeaten run, with 15 scored and 5 conceded, need to continue with an upward trend. The players need to be confident (... and humble) and match-fit whoever is selected to each squad. That must be the primary objective of the team selection tomorrow. Any player could be injured, any player could catch a cold in the meantime.

I'm in the keep the winning habit going camp. Partly because we have been successfully fielding so many youngsters whose bouncebackability hasn't been fully tested. Just keep winning, my preference.
Our most "seasoned" pro, Dalsgaard, isn't available. Who knows where Rico's head will be at either, especially as he was off form before he was injured.

I'd say he was knackered not off form. That's probably why he got the injury too.

Start with the team that we expect to start against Bournemouth/ Barnsley. I want us to win this - let finish the league campaign on a high and carry our momentum. Also when was the last time we lost fewer than 7 games in a season?

What we need to do is get into the box as early as possible early doors and dive like Greg Louganis at every opportunity.
Ivan notches the pen. Bring him off.
Take it in turns so nobody gets two yellows.

I admire Frank saying he’s going to go with a strong team. Not what I would have done but then I haven’t got us to third in the championship for the second year running . Now I’m off to make offerings to the footballing gods that we get no key injuries this afternoon.

Players can get injured crossing the street.

Morale and as Thomas puts it 'winning mentality' come first.

I still expect a steady stream of subs as players like Ghoddos, Marcondes etc.... Who are on the fringes of the first team will need minutes, and you're permitted 7 changes.

Keep the momentum and competitive match fitness going. Expect plenty of subs. Ivan to beat the record (which will esp. please me as my future s-i-l to be is a CP supporter) Getting match ready for the big games and hopefully a good result today as well, although avoiding injury and sendings off the orders for today.
