I think that we have to imagine that every game now is the equivalent of playing against a Premier League team. So they will have analysed all our players and searched for any weakness to exploit. Anyone starting that's returning from injury or youngster in a crucial position like wing back will be targeted. I believe that our usual approach of drip feeding the younger players in around 65 minutes is a better way. I'm probably wrong as usual but hey ho that's my view.

Might see some rotation or players given a rest for this one.... I’d like to see

Raya

Roselev
Pinnock
Sorensen
Henry

Janelt
Da Silva
Jenson

Fosu
Toney
Mbeumo

Subs: Daniels, Dalsgard, Reid, Canos, Zamburek, Ghoddos, Forrs, Gilbert, Stevens.
That would be my team too. Dalsgaard and Canos looked tired yesterday. Will be great to have Josh back.

I'd assume Dasilva and Mbeumo will bring the freshness, so Ghoddos and Fosu to step to the bench. It may be a game to rotate Roerslev for Dalsgaard, who was given a torrid time by 'Boro's wingers, as Reading also have decent wide players. No real need for other changes, unless recommended by the fitness and conditioning staff.

I think this although it's a bit of a toss up whether Fosu or Canos gets swapped for Mbeumo. I'd imagine one or the other will come on to replace later anyway. Certainly think it's worth looking at Roerslev though it does leave us short of experience if Dalsgaard's rested so we may wait until Reid is ready to start before doing that.

So far we have never lost when Fosu starts, I'd like to not drop him until that record is broken. Plus his partnership with Toney is really bringing the goals. So he is a must start for me.
I have to agree.
Place is his to lose.

All depends on what the fitness stats say. Would rather we swapped him out when he needs a break than play him because of some superstition and have him pick up an injury.. As I said it's probably a toss up between him and Sergi as they've both played a lot of minutes recently. Sergi did the full 90 v Bristol so may well be his turn on the bench.

He is ex-Reading as well and they didn't fancy him so something to prove.

Would probably go with

Raya, Dalsgaard, Pinnock, Sorenson, Henry, Janelt, Jensen, DaSilva, Fosu, Toney, Mbeumo

Subs: Daniels, Roerslev, Reid, Ghoddos, Zamburek, Forss, Canos, Gilbert, Stevens.

I expect there are a couple with fatigue, interested to see if we stick with our best XI available with a higher risk of injury or we rotate a bit. If we stick rather than twist can expect a couple changes for Barnsley.

I expect he’ll be well up for it against an old club as well

I think Sergi is always best starting, then replaced.

Same team with JDS in for Ghoddas.

Ghoddas has played well but JDS will be key if hes fit. Reading are no mugs with the ball.

This. Dalsgaard may struggle against some wingers but never for long. He finds a way. Would rather his nous over Roeslev pace against Reading.
Sorry but Dalsgaard was SO slow getting out to stop crosses coming in on Saturday and it very nearly cost us.

Yes. Their main main Ejara (sp) is decent, will be interesting.

Fosu is undroppable. Look at the number of goals he has scored and the number of assists he has chalked up in recent games. In just a matter of weeks, he has morphed into a key player, one of the first names to appear on the team sheet.

I'm with Fosu for this one. Mbeumo is looking sublime again. Reid will be used in some role, no doubt. Don't expect much experimentation to start.

I'd like to see Toney moved to the top of the "sub him when we're winning" list. An injury to him seems like the biggest risk to the promotion party.

Fosu hasn’t got as many miles in legs as many other players so should be no issue with him and fatigue. May also be a contributory (but not only) reason that he is having some an impact recently.

Same can be argued for Ghoddos and more so that he needs more game time to really hit the levels he can achieve.

Canos likes playing Reading !! Also as someone else has said he is much better starting and not so effective used from bench.

Some tricky selection issues for Thomas as he looks to keep run going whilst recognizing it’s a marathon not a sprint and needs to keep the players as fresh as possible. Possible he will stick to same eleven for Reading (but I suspect will be Josh for Ghoddos) and rotate a bit for Barnsley.

The referee is Tony Harrington. We haven't got the best record with him in charge! :(

Whereas Reading, he's reffed them 6 times at the MadStad. 4 home wins. 2 draws. In 6 fixtures!

Ideally we would probably want to rest Dalsgaard on the basis that he doesn't seem to have 3 matches in a week left in him without an impact on performance. Maybe Roerslev will start and see whether Reid is ready to give the team 60mins, with Dalsgaard an option from the bench?

My Reading mate ( similar to a West Ham one ) said they had 7 players out when we beat them , but back then we were playing pretty sh*t

I think we need to stop conceding soft goals, Reid's experience could really help us here:

Raya, Dalsgaard, Pinnock, Reid, Henry, Janelt, Jensen, DaSilva, Fosu, Toney, Canos

You can't drop Canos or Fosu at the moment, they're too dangerous and we're scoring tons of goals. People who think that Roerslev is a shoe in for Dalsgaard make me laugh too, Dalsgaard is a full international who we need to be starting 90% of our games. Unlucky on Ghoddos but JDS was in terrific form before he got injured, and you're not dropping Jensen after that performance at Boro.

Sometimes you need to consider rotating a player just because he put in a performance, if that performance has taken a toll on him. This is something we're not going to know, only the fitness and conditioning staff will after training.

I think bringing Reid so quickly could be risky, but if he does come in then perhaps it should be for Pinnock. He's been below his best in the last few games, whereas Sorensen has continued to play well.

Exciting match up this one! I'd go for same but JDS in for Ghoddos. Need more of a presence in midfield. Janelt, Jensen, JDS is as good a midfield as we can put out.

Fosu should not be dropped, totally the wrong message - he's thriving right now. You'd be mad to take him out of the starting XI.

Any other changes and I'll expect it is because of match fitness/freshness.

Dalsgaard has to play, Reading might have decent wide players but he'll let them know exactly what they're up against, in his favour they don't have great pace but are tricky which is where an "old head" is priceless

It still amazes me that rotating players is seen as dropping them. All players will need to take a break at some point, including our best ones. If Fosu was on the bench, he would not be 'dropped' but rested so he would be back firing on Saturday. No player can play at the top of their game Saturday Wed every week for 6 weeks.

I wouldnt rotate for the Reading game, its a team in good form, we need our at the moment best players, so maybe JDS for Ghoddos. After that game we have 4 easier games (as if there are easy games in the championship), there i would rotate a little more, but right now its a winning team.

Need to be at our best for this one. Don't give away early goal or make careless passes. Reading more than capable as their league position shows. I'd be happy with a draw.

Nice to see that so many players are playing themselves into form. Including those who were fringe or unknown quantities. Makes picking a side a lot more fun or is it difficult?

While we have looked a little defensively vulnerable of late, I don't think this game is the one to try a different CB pairing.

Ghoddos has done very well last couple of games, and I would have no problems with him starting, but personally I would go with JDS.
