I wonder if we'll go a little more defensive in midfield and play two holding. Team for the opening fixture (pure speculation) could be something like:

------------------ Trotta* ------------------

Judge --------- Forshaw ------- McAleny*

---------- Douglas ----- Tebar ------------

Bidwell - Craig - Tarkowski - McCormack

----------------- Button ---------------------

* Or similar type signings

Bench: Lee, Yannaris, Dean, Dallas, Reeves, Grigg, Norris

Thought would start this very early. Will be interesting to see how the team evolves.

Can't wait.

Used to seeing the team as

Keeper

Back 4

Midfield

Forwards

so nearly had a heart attack as I thought you were suggesting Trotta in goal

No place anywhere for Saunders?

Interesting, but in all honesty a little premature I would have thought. Before I even consider thinking about it, I would hope we have a few more signings, because if not it's going to be a long hard season.

Thought it would be interesting to see how the line up may change over the next few weeks, what formation we'll play, and where we need to strengthen, etc...

Well I'd wager that that is a stronger line up than Doncaster and Yeovil fielded at any point last season so I wouldn't be totally unhappy with that but the squad will evolve and strengthen between now and the first game of the season.

I'd agree with hanworthbee; he's OK against a team that plays narrow but against any half-decent left-sided player McCormack gets turned inside out and leaves us horribly exposed. I think, with a pre-season behind him, Nico's mobility and technical play will make him our default right back.

I can only comment on what was said on the Grapevine last season, so don't shoot me to pieces please.
Is Button or for that matter Lee up to Championship standard?

Considering we haven't signed half of our team, this thread seems a bit odd!

Lee is a good solid back up to have at that level. Button I'm still unsure on but I think most Bees fans will be happy for him to start the season as our No.1.

and probably beyond as MW looks to see how players adapt to life in the higher division.

don't rule out dallas and reeves by the way, chaps!

Dont think we will bw playing that formation too often, 1) CD leaving 2) its too narrow in defence, and you cant leave your LB/RB exposed at this level

At this stage, I will only stick my neck out and say, 1 GK and 10 outfield players. Nailed on

In fairness, I can understand the excitement. With no football on telly to distract, these sorts of threads are inevitable

Having had the mis-fortune to read some of your utter dross over the years including such gems as "crap players should not be allowed to play Sunday football " , this is your best offering yet. Not quite sure if you watched the games last season but when Rosler made the transition putting him to right back , we had more clean sheets than ever . Combine that with the amount of assists he produced and I think it says enough. He will be more than able to hold his own in the Championship.

Although more than able at full back mid field is his best position and will be a key player there this season IMHO

Hard men and skilful ball-players, in both defence and midfield, and pace, pace, pace up front. Happy days indeed :)
