Debate between Fosu and Canos tbh- Personally think Fosu is the more dangerous player but Frank will start Canos

This. Although there is a case for Fosu over Canos.

I don't think there is tbh! Canos has looked very sharp, lively and dangerous last two games. Fosu has done fine, but Canos is a much bigger threat IMO.

Which could be seen as good or not so good.
Hopefully, Baptiste and Marcondes can start pushing Jensen and Da Silva a bit harder for a starting place than they did today.

I agree, I think Canos is more of a direct threat than Fosu

Yes, many seem to be judging Canos for not being Benrahma while giving Fosu the plaudits despite him having done less than Sergi in the last 3 games. Fosu is a decent prospect and certainly ahead of Valencia but I don’t think he’s yet demonstrated that he’s better than Canos in terms of decision making, shooting or crossing, nor that his potential overall is greater.

I think this comes from having seen Canos for a few years at Brentford and to be fair, I don't think his decision making has improved. I think we all want Sergi to do well, possibly more than most, but he may well be our most frustrating player and I would rather see him as an impact sub at this time.

Yep agree with that side - need to get away to a good start and is good enough to turn Birmingham over

Think I'd have Halil on the bench. Don't know who for though.

Think it’s unlikely Mbuemo starts given how little he’s been involved to date. It’s probably that team with Fosu in Mbuemo’s place.

Wouldn’t surprise me if Daniels kept his place either with the ongoing speculation on Raya / injury.

Wonder if Mbuemo might be still suffering from the after affects of having covid perhaps a bit fatigued

He had one positive test for coronavirus many weeks ago in a series of tests that were otherwise negative. As far as reported, he did not have Covid-19. He's done a pre-season and got 25 minutes in an international game, they play Azerbaijan tonight, so I'd expect him to start.

He came on as sub in the recent 2-0 away win for France U21 against Georgia.

Last I looked we didn't manage to beat Birmingham last season. Strongest team, which includes Bryan. No slow start this season.

If people need resting, rest them against Southampton and get out of that comp ASAP.

Got to say, if Raya is fit but isn’t quite 100% I think Daniels did his chances of starting no harm yesterday.

Zamburek performed to a higher level than Emiliano also, and may have earned some league minutes - but I suspect both will be dropped for Norgaard and Dasilva.

I wonder if we see more of last years b teams players, this season.

IF Watkins & Benrahma haven't gone by the weekend ........then they should play.
No employer wants to pay their best employees to sit about doing nothing.
....and it would be in their own interests to keep match fit ...........just saying like!

They won’t play.

They’re going to leave - and putting them at risk of injury before a move takes place is just stupid. Professional football is not like any other profession.

I think this will be the team, I still think we could do with a couple of new signings as the squad wasn't strong enough to go up last season and we don't have arguably 2 of the best players from the Championship last year. I think Toney is a good signing and Jensen & Norgaard should be even better this year but that bench doesn't give me a feeling of "consistency" one bit.

Yes, yes, we all know that old chestnut .... all about risk ...but it doesn't stop clubs forking out £20m (& often loads more) cos their new player MAY get injured first match.
So, if you're not available to play ....we're not available to pay...... (your wages!)

Who says they’ve made themselves unavailable to play? The club may have decided not to play them because it has an interest in them being sold

I beg to differ
Nothing at all wrong with any of those on the bench in fact I would argue the fact that all of them would start at most teams in this league

Fosu would be my choice over Canos
Canos is a very frustrating player. Tons of ability but I just wish he'd shoot on sight or play the ball earlier. He's always trying to walk it in or create the simple chance for someone else.

I don't think the possibility of them being in the squad is as far-fetched as some are making out. Woods made a couple of brief appearances just before leaving, as did Jota, Dean & Colin a year earlier, and Gray before then.

From memory not many of them made good appearances though

Really? Based on what? I am not saying that some of them don't have potential but I don't think any of them would be consistent enough yet for a team pushing for the Premier League.

Did I say the ones pushing for promotion? Err no
Oh and how does a player fulfill his potential sat on a bench ?
